In Psalms or Proverbs it is written, "The earth shall wear out like old clothes." Also, the apostle, Peter, wrote that the earth would burn up in fiery heat. What this means is the material world will not last forever. The Bible says there will be a new heaven and a new earth, which is better than living on the present earth. That is a great glory to God that he has provided something better for the people of Earth.
