No, you can't... and in some countries, homosexuals are not even allowed to donate blood despite living a drug-free and monogamous lifestyle.

I don't know much about illegal drugs, but if it's injected (or if you've EVER used intravenous drugs), you absolutely cannot donate blood due to an increased risk of HIV infection.

When you donate blood, they ask you what drugs/medications you've taken in the past month to determine if it will affect the blood OR if you may be affected in a way that donating would be dangerous to your own health. If you're doing crystal meth, you're in no shape to be donating blood. And if you've done crystal recently, it will be in your bloodstream, which could be very dangerous to an already-sick person receiving your blood.

I commend your desire to donate blood. Blood of all types is constantly in need and there's no substitute. But you need to solve your drug problem first.

wtf is crystal??? are u talking about fuking glassware?? I'll just assume your an ill-informed american and you mean methylamphetamine. I do commend you for desiring to donate blood though. The other guy is a DUMBASS, why shoot someone down for trying to help others who arent as fortunate as him. If you recently comsumed drugs you probably shouldnt donate blood out of the simple point that, some of your drug metabolites could be a potential allergy to the person receiving blood. The nurses who collect the blood realistically cant determine your drug metabolites, unless they used a gas chromatography mass spectrometer, which they wont, because it would cause an insane amount of money just to test a pint of blood. Just dont donate.....no harm done

When donating blood, there are very specific questions that are asked about lifestyle. Also, a list of drugs is given to the donor to peruse before answering the question. We assume that when a donor comes in to donate that he/she is their to save someones life. If you are doing meth it seems to me that you would not be able to answer truthfully to the other questions. We tend to believe our donors, so if you plan on lying then you may wind up hurting someone who needs your help disparately. If you tell the truth you will be deferred indefinitely. So, let you conscience be you guide!!!!!!!

If one is so careless about his own life and safety, why would one care to donate blood?

Using drugs disqualifies someone totally. There is always traces of drugs left in the blood; and imagine the receiver, clinging to her life, getting tainted blood on top of it? Drugs that may have a huge dangerous impact when interacting with life savings medecines given to the patient?

No, because if you do crystal you are unlikelly to be altruistic enough to donate blood, plus you're probably living an unsavoury life generally and therefore quite likely to be at increased risk of hepatitis and HIV as well as malnourished.

quite? Having sex once places someone at higher risk, eh? Then why do ANY human beings provide blood? "shouldn't this be a caution as to what the destiny holds if we commence allowing and condoning gay couples?" *begins making a song* Desperado... Scare methods are failing all round the U. S., love. Your previous perspectives will be out of date earlier lengthy.

Here is a good example in nature how alcoholic blood is not liked.

True story:
I am sitting out on the patio in the summer night. Mosquitos are bitting me. after a few shots of vodka, mosquitos stopped biting.
