I say do what feels right to you. If you get an urge to call, just call. I've been there and it has always worked for me. :)
P.S following your heart is never the wrong thing to do. What's more I called my "Should I call him back guy" and now I'm married to him.

YES YES YES. Especially if you think he likes you definitely call him back. He is surely waiting. My gf never calls me and it sucks. Just trust me on this. Call him back. But always do the 2 call a day rule. Call once. No answer call again later. still no answer leave a message saying "blah blah blah" and then at the end say "well, just call me back when you get this if you get the chance, if not" if you see him tomorrow say "ill see you tomorrow" if you dont' see him say "then i will just talk to you later."
