I do, for both purposes. Although they tend to all run into the same thing in the end. A spiritual mediation does relax me, and a relaxing meditation almost always ends up being spiritual.

There are two forms of meditation. The first is Eastern meditation. This is where a person empties their mind and goes to their happy place. The problem with this pagan form of meditation is that it is the playground of satan. The other form of meditation is Biblical. This form of meditation is a thinking form, where the person thinks or concentrates on the Law of God, and the application of that Law in their own lives. This brings the person closer in line with God.

Meditation is something Allah tells us to do; to meditate in the universe, how we were created, how blessed we are, etc. It brings on inner peace and satisfaction as well. It takes you out of the centre of yourself to the whole universe you are a part of and you feel since Allah is maintaining the sophisticated system of this universe, He definitely is Capable of taking care of me. So, peace.

Peace

I meditate on the Word of God. Not in a ritualistic way, but when I read the Bible I think deeply about what is says, and I try to find ways to apply it to my life, or use it in witnessing to others.
