One recommendation I often read is to apply a few drops of visine. Some people swear by it, saying it helps reduce or eliminate redness in a pimple.

I actually know three things you could try. Skin is different from person to person and sometimes what works for one doesn't do it for the next person.
* Try dabbing on some toothpaste. In a few hours rub the dried paste of with your finger and wash. Works for me all the time.
Cheap, because you already have it at home.
* Some aloe vera gel, straight from the plant works well. Attacks the infection and thus the swelling and redness. Cheap if you have the plant at home. Otherwise buy a leaf at your grocer's produce section.
*Teatree oil. Works pretty much the same as the previous. If you have to buy it, it's about $8,- for a little bottle. But it works fast.

Smash up a couple of asprin and mix it with a tiny bit of water to give it a pasty texture and apply it to the red spot.. The asprin will reduce the swelling and take the red out of the infected area. Let it dry for a while and really get into your skin. Don't rub it or agravate it.

Pure Tea Tree Oil is pretty good at chilling out a pimple. If your really desperate, go to the Dermatologist and have them shoot it with cortisone.
Oh and be careful with alcohol it may irritate your skin further and dry the surrounding skin too much which will make it flaky and hard to conceal with makeup.
Ice is good for the swelling but it may make your skin redder, if you are really swollen, try to use the ice a couple hours before you go out.

I just got a sample of "Eucerin" Cover up in the mail. It's literally green but wipes out anything red on your face instantly. . and you don't need allot at all. Works great with any redness on the face. I don't remember the exact name, but if you go to WalMart or CVS..they would have it. I also heard toothpaste but never tried it.

If you have a pimple you need to get rid of ASAP, go to your doctor, they can give you a cortizone injection that will make it go away faster than anything. I woke up on my wedding day with a MONSTER ZIT, went to the doctor, by 4 pm zit was gone.
