I love him more than anything, but I'm a little nervous because I want to make a good impression. I just want everyone to like me because we want to be together and his relatives will be in our lives at some point or another. How can I get them to like me? Help me please!!!

Going through a similiar situation; I just went to my boyfriend's for Thanksgiving. What I did was, I brought a very nice gift for the lady of the house. Not to win her over, but to show I have class, home training and great taste. I know they are a coffee drinking household. So, I bought some nice choclates and gourmet coffee from the "Southbend Chocolate Factory. It was about 50.00; not too much, not too little. Remember you want a great first impression. Next, you make sure you greet everyone with a nice smile and good body lanuguage. Be cool and calm about it. Don't over do it, it may send the message of "is she fake or what?" Hold conversations with others and be yourself.Next thing you do is, enjoy being with your future husband. Because in the end, that is all that matters.

I wish you the best.

Happy Holidays:)

It really sounds cliched but really you need to just be yourself.

When you relax and not care about what people think is when you make the best impression.

Go in confident, knowing your good attributes and never be afraid of saying something silly because you may end up saying nothing at all and you don't want to be permanently suspected of being boring.

It is impossible to not care what these people think. But it is possible to tell youself you don't in order to achieve a relaxed state.

Another good way is to hit the booze a little early on to take the edge off. But then stop, you don't want to get wasted as a first impression.

do not discuss politics or religion.

dress conservatively, and don't wear too much make-up.

Try to give the impression that you come from a stable family and that you are responsible -- i.e., your job, the industry you work in, places that you travel to on business, any books you have read, keeping in touch from friends from college. Do it in a subtle way, so that it doesn't seem like you are bragging. Also, please don't take this the wrong way, but don't talk too much. Smile, and be cordial.

Also, when you speak, use proper english. Don't use a lot of slang or informal expressions.

bring a bottle of wine to start off with. Second...don't be afraid to talk. If you are shy they won't know you or think you are unfriendly. On the other hand, saying something controversial may spark bad feelings, so be careful what you say. Most important, look conservative. Don't go there in what you would wear to the club on a Saturday night.

your boyfriend loves you. that is step one. and the biggest step. so everything is downhill from there. obviously, no foul language no slutty clothes, make sure you keep his place clean during the party (display housekeeping skills) and no evidence that you sleep over. make sure any kids that come over have a safe place to play. make rounds around the room. play a good hostess. everybody loves a good hostess. and remember one thing...you want to be liked as a person, not as their relative's girlfriend. so don't cling to the boyfriend all night.

Dress appropriately. Be Gracious. Do not be loud. Speak little. Watch alot. Only share positive things about your life. Don't have more than a few drinks if you have any. Show humor. Talk about how great your BF is....they love him too...to build him up will build you up.

Good Luck!

You may want to bring the hostess a small gift . Like a bottle of wine or a pointsetta plant, or a dessert.. ask your b/f though...

Just be your warm and friendly self..

Wear something casual but nice. Be yourself and treat them like you would want to be treated and you will be fine. Don't change yourself just to impress them. You want them to love what he loves inside of you and he sees in you.

Be yourself, but of course be polite. You could also tell them a little about yourself and where you came from. It shouldn't be hard. Just show them you're a well rounded person!

Dress nice, but conservatively and most importantly BE YOURSELF.

Try getting your boyfriend to tell you somethings about specific people in his family so that you are a little bit familiar with the people once you meet them.
