I hear some people talking about heaven and I just think to myself, "how boring!!" It's like the word, "nice". "Nice" is boring...no conflict, nothing to work for, nothing to gain, no reason to really do anything...just ...well..."nice". What do you do all day? Think about God? Just think nice thoughts?...Do you just have tea parties everyday with your stuffed animals in the clouds and talk about how pleasant everything is? Will God still ignore you up there like he does down here?

I hate drama for the sake of drama, but I need things to be tough...sort of a "work hard, play hard" lifestyle. Heaven has been described to me recently as a "work hard...err...umm...be a really nice person and make sure you smile!!" sort of place...LAME!!!

I'm not really buying that at this point in my life. I guess I'll see you in hell...I'll be the one with the blue hair in the corner of the club. Come on by, say "Hello"...I'll buy you a drink...

Interesting question. I've often wondered if it could be possible for Heaven and Hell to be the same place. A place full of constant worship and fellowship with God would be Heaven for those who love God and Hell for those who don't love Him. I don't necessarily believe that, but it's an interesting thought.

Yes, I can imagine if I lived a really bad life (by my standards), being mean to people and not standing up for my values, that I might be forced to spend eternity in a "nice" place in the clouds, forced to wear a bedsheet and carry a harp that is incapable of making discordant sounds (ie, it has 3 strings, each one octave apart, lest you play something that isn't "nice").
And the worst part would be all fundies talking about how much they love Jesus, literally ad infinitum. Like, get over it, people, you're already there, you don't have to impress anyone now.
Can you even get laid in heaven? How the hell is that supposed to work? Do they expect you to be married first, and if so, do marriages have to last for ever? Talk about "same-sex" marriage. How dull!

I'll definitely be looking for you at the club.

You create your own heaven and you create your own hell.

Out of what you describe, and no personal offence is meant, in your case, either alternative sounds dead boring, to me.

No points for me, but an honest and accurate reply for you. Have a drink for me!

Heaven is an immposibilty. Utopia is unreachable. It is an unobtainable goal designed to keep the weak under control.

'Be good or you won't go to heaven' It's a political instrument.
