The other day I was short on spagetti sauce, so I used a little bit of salsa instead. It doesn't sound very good, but it was. Any other ideas instead of salsa?

Manwich sloppy joe sauce. Add a few of your regular ingredients such as garlic, oregano, basil, and tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt, mushrooms, onions, and bell pepper. And WA-LA! SPAGHETTI SAUCE! And I too have used salsa in my spaghetti.

If you have a can of tomato sauce or even whole, cut -up or crushed tomatoes, you can make a great sauce by just adding garlic, basil, a sprinkle of sugar, salt and pepper and heat up, taste and pour over your pasta. Topping with cheese, of course. There you go! sounds good for tonight, actually! Another option, is going with a white sauce and making it a clam pasta or alfredo, or gosh, sky is the limit!

Cook up the pasta tasting once a minute after it gets flexible so it is just barely done . The Italians refer to this as "al dente" or to the tooth. Drain quickly (don't let it sit in the water and get soggy. Just but some good butter on it and salt and pepper to taste. Heat my butter and simmer onions and olives adding smashed garlic last.Toss your noodles in the sauce pan. Be carefull not to burn the garlic or it will taste bitter. I make up extra to microwave later.
