Why aren't more people looking for salvation...?
Hm mm...? The United States has always offered a relatively high quality free public education... Do you think that could be a deciding factor?
It's a fact that the greater the degree of ones education the less likely he is to believe that there is a "credible God," a "created universe" and a chance for "life after death."
It seems that everyone knows about God and Jesus Christ - the story has been wide spread enough - and now reason and logic have rightfully taken a firm hold over the minds of the intelligent.

I think they are too turned off by the hypocrisy of the Conservative Evangelical Religious Right in this country. These groups think that only they are going to Heaven; that the rest of Christianity are pagans; that it is OK to proselytize people of other faiths and churches; it is better to save a soul than a life; their "family values" are the only right ones, etc.
I grew up believing that all Christians are my Christians brothers. I believe in spreading unity in the Church not division. I hope that some day they will read the Bible and find out what Christ really taught before it is too late for all of us.

1st God does saving people surrender to His will and nothing they do or try will help it is his Grace.
2nd I think more people would be open to the Lord in their life if Christians trying to spread the word were more like Him and were patient and less militant. If Christians as a hole acted more like the Man they follow then people would line up to be like Him. Look at Billy Graham and how he treats people and how He admits when He has wrong ideas like when He said about his slurs against Jews that He was wrong and He now believed differently and that there would prob be people of all Faiths in heaven ect...

Some believe the lies of the enemy...
...I'm a good person, I'll get into heaven.
...There is no God.
...There is no devil/Satan etc therefore there can be no God.
...I am not worthy.
...After all the things I've done, He wouldn't accept me.
There are many lies the enemy tells...and so many people buy into. If I were one of those that have bought into the lie...I'd tell the enemy, I want a refund...NOW.
Besides, this is a world-wide problem, not just in the U.S.

Because our society has closed the doors on God in any public view. Turn on the TV...anything on God, maybe just the scandals...
How about schools....nah, the atheist parent might get offended if their child learns about the love of God...
Wait, what about the Ten Commanments at Court Buildings...oops, they are gone too....
It's too offensive to speak about faith (sarcasm)....
Well only to a few and that's all it takes for the ACLU to take up their arms and attack God...
It's not really the person's fault...
Yes, some might claim ignorance, but there are many others who do not know about God...
Why??
Because their parents and maybe even their parent's parents did not have the family teachings of God and salvation...
It's a big dominoe effect...and its getting worse...
Before u know it...a majority of children will think and belive that God is just a fictional character, a legend, a myth just like Santa Claus...
Oh wait...i hope that I didnt offend anyone for mentioning Santa Claus..
Merry Christmas...or should i say Happy Holidays..
Nah...merry CHRISTmas!!!!

I think that the Country has made people dumb on purpose, using the media (radio, tv; especially MTV, etc). So people don't really think that much. They just go with the flow, like sheep. I'm not insulting, its just sad. Not so many people really think of how can they become better and happier, so they are now programed to believe that anything that involves "religion" is BS.
I really hope people open their eyes soon, very soon.

One big reason is that there are a lot of people who claim to be "saved" who are hypocrites and give the Church an incredibly black eye.

My guess is they are turned off by the people preaching one thing while doing something totally opposite or it could be the fact that those same people seem to pick and choose the parts of the bible they wish to obey.

From what ? The terrorists .
That is why we have the military.
The military people are mostly Christians who kill !
Isn`t that ironic ?
The commander in chief is a Christian also ( Bush )
What happened to thou shalt not kill ?

Doesn't that depend on their belief in what being "saved" means? There's more than one way to look at things. Let's not limit ourselves because of our narrow-minded world-view. Open your mind to the expansiveness of the human mind.
