E Z FIXX SINCE THE TENSIONER IS MANUEL AND NOT SELF TENSIONING, U NEED A 15mm wrench and a 15mm socket, long extension and of course a ratchet. loosen the bolt on the tensioner pulley " do not remove it" then you can tighten the tensioning bolt which is on the tensioning pulley bracket 12 o clock right on top.. turn the bolt a few times, remove your tools, start it up listen and and adjust as needed.. tighten up pulley bolt..

No, a new belt will not squeak unless there is a problem. The problem could be the fact that when the replacement was done, they didnt replace the tensioners which automaticly keep constant tension on the belt to keep it from squeaking. Basiclly its a pully with a spring in it. If your dealer wanted to go cheap, they may have just left the old ones in. The other case could be that whatever else is connected to the serpinine belt, ie; water pump, aternator, powersteering pump, a/c, etc. could either be going bad and the bearings have worn out or the unit its self (water pump, powersteering, a/c, etc.) is going bad. Shoulda bought a Toyota.

Could be one of three things.
1. Wrong belt, or streched. All serpentine belts have number on them. Write it down. Go to locale parts store. Ask them what belt goes on your jeep. Give all information. If it has A/C. It makes a differance.
2. It may have been put on wrong. Look for pully diagram inside of hood or where it latches. Follow diagram. If none go to parts store. Ask for diagram.
3. The pully tensioner arm spring could be faulty or assembled wrong.
If nothing else use a bar of soap. Run your engine. Place soap on belt. Squeek should stop it.

Take it back to the dealer. Serpentine belts should not be making any sort of noise. You may want to switch from a OE belt to a good year gatorback belt. They run quiet and help absorb the harmful vibrations created by the engine. Take it to another dealer for a second warranty claim. This isn't right. Good luck, I hope this helps.

This is probably not the belt but one of the pulleys it is turning. Take the belt off and hand turn each pulley the belt propels. You should be able to locate the noisy one easily and then repair that item. If this is too much, take it to a shop.
