The best thing to wear to a fancy party with strapless dress is a updo, I think. If the dress is long it allows for the focus to be on your shoulders, neck and chest. If your hair is down, and longer then shoulder length, it could make you look larger and weighed dow. My choice is for an simple updo.

actually, a strapless dress is one of the most versitile outfits around. If you want to really show off the dress, a up-do would be the way to go, especially with some great chandelier earrings. But if the top of the dress is plain, leaving your hair loose or half up and half down, also would look great.

I say it depends on what kind of accessories you are planning on wearing with the dress... Up do's are always nice, but sometimes in a strapless dress, your shoulders can look too bare...so you should wear some sort of necklace to accent your features... Otherwise, i just wore a strapless dress last weekend and i just did my hair straight, but wore a cute headband to i didn't look so blah :)

It depends how you're comfortable. Will you be comfortable with a strapless and hair all up (personally I always feel over exposed, lol) If you wear your hair up - make sure you have nice earrings on.
Experiement with you hair while wearing the dress and see what you like best - you'll look KILLER regardless if you're feeling good about yourself :)

An updo w/a few strands hanging down. It's a classic style. You won't need a lot of jewelry, but earrings are a must.

To excentuate the neck and sholders you want up or short hair. If you feel your neck is naturally shorter the up do will make it look longer. Adding a thin choker or high sitting necklace, will enhance it furhter. This will make it look eligant.

i say wear your hair down! it gives you more freedom to be your own person. besides, everyone else's hair is going to be up. why not change it around a bit? all up-do's do is hide your hair. you want people to see a beautiful head covered in flowing hair! so, i say wear your hair down with any formal dress.
