Triple Trick question???

ok i got three trick question i want to ask to see how witty everyone is, although there is an answer for evey one of these question you must really think to get the right answer.................


1.Is it legal for a man to marry his widow's sister?

2.Name the most recent year in which New Year's preceded Christmas.

3.A 10 foot rope ladder hangs over the side of a boat with the bottom rung on the surface of the water. The rungs are one foot apart, and the tide goes up at the rate of 6 inches per hour. How long will it be until three rungs are covered?

3) it won't, the boat will rise with the tide

1. If a man has a widow he is dead so he cannot marry.

2. New Year's Day preceded Christmas EVERY year as New Year's Day is January 1 of that year, so the last year was 2006.

3. The bottom three rungs will never become covered no matter how much water rises because as the water rises so does the boat, it floats not stay still.

1. If the woman is a widow, then that means that her husband is dead...so if a woman WANTS to marry a DEAD man, then more power to her...

2. New Year's never precede's Christmas...it always comes BEFORE Christmas does.

3. I'm not sure about this one, but I would say that the first one is already covered, so it would take approx. 4 hours...maybe?
