I was on zoloft at first and it was amazing, it just went away with no side effects, but i could no longer afford it and they put me on prozac, it was a low dose and my panic attacks started up again after about 3 months, so they upped the dosage and now i just dont feel like myself. its like my vision or something is different, and i just feel weird, hard to explain. sometimes im shaky and its just like im seeing weird, like the light is different or an almost dizzy feeling-i dunno like i said hard to explain, does anyone else have these symptoms and what did you do?? thanks..

I suggest you don't take any and learn to live life without them. They do more harm than good I am luck to be here. Go cold turkey and you will see what I mean. You will want to kill yourself or just hurt yourself in some strange way. Those drugs play with your mind. Honestly the only way doctors really know what goes on with that medicine is to try it out on us. If you want to be a Ginnie pig go ahead.

Hello Jessica. I suffer badly from panic disorders. It crippled me for 12 years. At first I was treated for depression, but was not depressed just "scared of living". Eventually I saw a doctor who dealt with Panic disorders and was put on the correct medication and "Thank Heavens" am living a normal life. I am on Aropac. one a day. no side affects of dry mouth or anything. I had side affects with prozac. If you can try and get back onto zoloft if it agreed with you. I cant really afford my medication, but because I need it, skimp here and there, so I can get them. Life is too short. Good luck, and I wish you well.

Just CALM first. Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well. Life is full of beauty. NOTICE it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes Be cool, RELAX. Take a deep breathe until you control yourself. Start sharing with praying. Eat HEALTHY food. Do sport. Find some hobbies. Keep searching the solution progressively. Enjoy live in BALANCE. Ora et Labora. Shalom, God Loves U always =)

Zoloft is now Generic, so it should be cheaper. If you ask them to specify Greenstone as the manufacture of the Generic Zoloft it will be the same as the name brand. Pfizer has a 6 month exclusive on the drug so they are actually producing this at a generic price. Zoloft is also probably the best too go with with minimal side effects. I would stay away from Prozac because that has the worst side effect of our medications. I think at our mental health clinic we will use Geodon or Lexapro if Zoloft is not available.

Yeah, i know EXACTLY what you are talking about! It's kind of like a dissociative disorder, like you are a mind with no body or a body with no mind. I know my mom takes prozac with good resultts, but it never helped me. My husband took Zoloft, worked great, but not for me. I am on effexor XR which is doing wonders for me and has been for at least 4 years. It has more than one component. A lot of dr.s have samples and will give them to u if you just ask(can't hurt, with no insurance the cost is insane). Just don't try Paxil, it is really bad!!! Good luck, I've been on a myriad of psychotropics....

I have panic disorder and what helps me is to take a couple swigs of vodka whenever the panic attack starts, within 20 seconds or so the panic attack will subside and be gone. I used to take sublingual ativan, but it just took to long to take action in my system to abort my panic attacks, and thats the closest thing you can get from the doctor to alcohol to stop panic attacks.
So for the absolute fastest relief, go with liquor, a safer route would be sublingual (under the tongue) ativan. i believe xanax is made that way too, and it certainly is stronger mg to mg because of its increased affinity to gaba receptors. those of course you can get from the doctor.
ssris suck. dont bother with prozac and paxil and all that
good luck on finding a treatment that works good for you

Medication is different for everyone and sometimes the body just becomes immune to it so that is why they upped the dosage. I have a similar prob with meds after about 6 months they loose their effect. I take klotipin for my panic attacks use to take atavain but they changed me because klotipin stays in your system longer.
hope this helps

I had the same thing going on when I was about 15. The doctors put me on trazodone, and within a year, my anxiety, panic and all that was literally relieved. It's a really good drug, and I recomend it. My life was unmanageable simply because of stress. It helped! Good luck with everything, truly! Because that's no way to live!

I have taken a few kinds of meds for anxiety, and I found that Lexapro works best - with little to no side effects and it is the safest one to use if you drink alcohal. Prozac I have heard has either no effects or just bad effects, really no middle ground, I believe that Lexapro may have a generic form, if not you could also try Celexa which is another form of Lexapro. Hope this helps!!
