[a] because the large majority support them and see them as their heros and martyrs.
[b] Because the very few that don't fear the persecution by the others.
Muslims believe that they owe their allegience to Islam and not to the Country they live in.
Pity is that that the World doesn't understand this and the Politicians just want to use their votes hence the PC nonsense.
Hordes of disillusioned Muslims are leaving Islam but they need to do so covertly, because the sentence for apostacy[leaving Islam] is death!?
That's a one way ticket there.
Merry Christmas!!!!

Because they're afraid of being treated like that guy was. He wrote a letter to the editor, was threatened by two men at the mosque, and the president of the mosque spoke to the police about getting a restraining order against HIM? They claim it was because he suggested some mosques collect funds for terrorists. News flash: they do everywhere else in the world and they do it here to the extent they can get away with it (it's why we needed laws against certain organizations).
Muslims are quick to complain about how they're treated and awfully slow to extend the same courtesies to others. Besides that, they come from societies where it's a crime to criticize ANYTHING connected even remotely with Islam.

Outside of the United States, there has been little or none to speak of, and those in the US are for english language consumers only.
The truth of the matter is that any muslim who takes a public stand, especially a person of any stature, is risking their lives.
But public statements in english (or other non-arabic languages) will do nothing to rid the world of this scourge. If Islam is to be known as a religion of peace and tolerance, as some would have us believe, then it is incumbent on those forces within Islam to clean house and assert control over the teachings of the religion.
I do not believe this will ever happen because the 'extreme' elements are in fact normative Islam. The moderates are the outsiders. Even more liberal forms of Islam, as seen in places like Pakistan and Indonesia hold the normative positions of the so-called extremists when it comes to dealings with non-muslims.

first off gents,do u seriously think CNN likes muslims!?
the people of CNN ...left oriented as they may be are still very very pro america...if u saw how biased every freakin news channel presented knews(wether the presenters are aware of it or not) from the point of view of us in the muslim world...ud never hav called CNN islamo-communist
To prove my point, yes i have seen muslims protesting against the kind of terrorism you speak of..i was going to one such demonstration but got held up.
Also,i just read the article uv posted here and im wondering if perhaps ur reading might be alittle selective.the guy was banned because:
Miftah criticized Osama bin Laden and other terrorists and suggested some U.S. mosques have been collecting money for them.
"This was not about the article; it was about a disturbance in the mosque," she said. "We agree with most of his article, except the one statement that American mosques support terrorists.
People sometimes quote the holy Quran as saying that all infidenls should die...the problem with that is,thats its being taken out of context.the chapter that verse is in was revealed to the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) after the idol worshippers of Mecca broke a treaty with the new vunerable group of Muslims.that verse defently does not give ANY muslim today the right to kill anyone else, wether they r muslims or christians or jews or hindus

First off, it is not the obligation or responsibilty of Muslims to "protest" terrorism. Our religious texts clearly do not support it and it is not a part of Islam. There have been MANY attempts by Muslim scholars to publish official articles, hold press conferences and protests against violence in the name of Islam but it simply does not make it to your TV or newspaper. hate and violence and having an enemy that you can fear sells and corperate media (including CNN who is far from supporting Islam in any way, shape or form) wants what sells, PERIOD! There is NO left leaning media so please don't fool yourself. 5 major corperations own the media in America and other parts of the world. All 5 have well known connections to the Republican party and all of them donate enormous funds to conservatives so try again. BTW, what you and the media classify as terrorism, educated people as retaliation for oppresive and inhumane crimes against Muslim people (Palestine, Iraq, etc.) but the media fails miserably when it comes to showing the whole story. Instead, they show the Muslim retaliation or defense and portray it as a one sided attack. Are there stupid, senseless acts being committed by people who call themselves Muslims, of coarse but this no different than Jews and Christians when none of the three faiths permit aggression/transgression. The Qur'an CLEARLY forbids ANY act of transgression against ANYONE. If someone claims to follow the Islamic faith and these things, why sould we who don't be held to account? Why should we protest Muslim crimes when Christians and Jews are slaughtering Muslims by the tens of thousands, forcing them out of their land and homes and treating them with no class or respect?
Back to the media, including CNN
Gerald Levin, chief executive, AOL Time Warner has a different view. In a CNN discussion on the future of the media, a few days before the AOL Time Warner merger, he predicted global media would become the dominant industry of the 21st century — so powerful that they might in fact become more powerful than governments. "So what's going to be necessary is that we're going to need to have corporations redefined as instruments of public service," he said, adding: "It's going to be forced anyhow because when you have a system that is constantly available everywhere in the world immediately, then the old-fashioned regulatory system has to give way."

Doesn't sound too liberal to me!
It's all too clear that Republicans are pro-business and usually at the expense of the middle and low class. Let's face it, the huge tax breaks to the top 2% of the country, the Republican originated laws protecting corperations and their CEOs from white collared crimes and scandals. The media is a monopoly and ALL ABOUT MONEY and control over what you and I hear and see. The owners of these 5-6 media outlets all have ties to zionism. This is the reason you never hear about Israel's massacres of Palestinians and Lebanese people. Your are very misinformed if you believe for one second that there is a liberal biased in the U.S. media. You are even further warped if you believe CNN has any Muslim interest. BTW, Islam and communism do not fit. Neither do Islam and fascism. It's a theocracy based on the laws of God where aggression and injury/death to ANYONE that is not directly harming you is forbidden. Allah says in the Qur'an that taking ONE innocent life is the same as killing all of mankind. He also says, in MANY places, that He does not love or support transgressors. I am just adding this FYI. Personally, I have seen several Muslim protests against terrorism but to be honest with you, I don't think most Muslims believe another Muslim had ANYTHING to due with 9/11. If you do some serious and objective investigation, the finger points elsewhere. As far as Palestinian and Iraqi attacks that you may call terrorism, it is WAR and terrorists are killing Muslims led by Bush, Blair, the pro zioist Christians and Jews. Not saying it's right. Islam only condones fighting the direct enemy but hey, things aren't fair on EITHER side. Peace!
P.S. How soon we forget. There were protests in MANY Muslim countries after 9/11 and the world was with America. It was this terrorist President Bush that changed all that and created global hate for America. Check your facts!

Pizzachu: "the belief of a average protest is hilarious" no longer that hilarious, and not devoid of precedent. In Northern eire, Catholics have protested against the events of the IRA, that's a Catholic terrorist business enterprise. regrettably, Muslims do no longer seem to work out issues in particularly the comparable way.

every line contains a large amount of stupid things.
1) Mass media are not left-leaning... Have you ever heard about a lot of newspapers and tv channels pro republican? or is the whole planet communist?
2) Identify muslims as terrorist simply means to be a racist.
There are muslims in our countries that respect laws and in Arab countries there are also moderate muslims...
The idea that every muslim is a potential kamikaze is a videogame idea instilled in your mind by propaganda... or maybe you are making propaganda
3) The chaos in Iraq started when a foreign country decide to invade Iraq without ANY legitimation.
Now we have ethnic groups that are killing each others and this is the result of Republican di.ckheads politics.
There are muslims that don't hate our countries and would appreciate our politics system.

Can u find Osama for me?
Just as you find it hard to find these extremists, we muslims find it hard to find them too. They are not in the mosque or streets screaming to us that they are extremists.
True that we may find it easier to identify them if they do speak or act in a particularly funny way. But on what grounds can u turn someone in? Under which court of law is it wrong to speak against another religion? Can U turn all those Y!A answerers on this website who speak ill of Islam?
And no, we moderate muslims (the only true muslims) dont support Osama or his actions. I would freely criticise him, and not fear any sort of ill-treatment from my family or muslim friends. It's sad to hear about this one-off incident in the US.
And no, 'extremism' or 'terrorism' do not go with the word 'Islam'. neither does God ask to pickup arms, nor does He ask us to follow the religion fanatically. Infact FYI, there are restrictions on going fanatic!
