Don't drink anymore, keep your mouth shut and your hands to yourself and you should be okay. Stay away from the copier machine and resist the impulse to stand on top of your desk and sing "Like a Virgin" over the office intercom. Although if you do have an intercom it may be funny to say "Hello. This is God. I demand that all lower level employees get Christmas bonuses this year." Maybe...

A couple of rules.... Control your alcohol. Dont use this as a venue to get wild, though its okay to let your work peers see you looser than they might at work....see another side of you. DON'T, I repeat, DON'T wake up with a co worker. Not that pairing up with a co worker is always a bad idea but definitely not good after a night of too much drinking. The next few weeks at work can be very uncomfortable and it can truely effect you professionally. Hope this helps.

If you've already started drinking and are afraid of saying something stupid to the boss, then either switch to something non-alcoholic and avoid the boss at the party or don't go to the party all. If you even have to ask the question, then maybe you shouldn't even go to the party.

just don't kiss your boss that is the one golden rule i have for you. as for saying something obnoxious that's ok because you can go into work on monday and blame it on the drink and all will be forgotten that is if anyone remembers you making the comment in the first place of course

snog the boss, and get someone to photo you. So then you can blackmail him into a better job, or if he sacks you, you have eevidence against him for sexual discrimiation case. Or just go have a laugh and a giggle, start a wet t shirt contest, and tell everyone all thier faults, again get it all on video/camera, so you can use that as evidence that it was the drink when they sack you.

Get it into your head now that everthing you will say tonight will be complimentary to everyone...even if you dont mean it...
Your boss for example will be delighted to hear your complimenatry words and will I am sure be nice to you or remember your words later in the week which may help to further your career.

Be nice and people will be nice to you...Regardless of how unpleasant your boss is...be nice it is always the best policy...

You will see.....Good luck...

rule of thumb= [don`t be the *** of the party]
1 drink at a party with people you work with..
always leave after the main event of any party ,because if you don`t ,people will want to make plans for the next day with you ..
those who stay late always end up cleaning up other peoples messes..

I would suggest you try not to worry about it. actually the office x-mas party is famous for this situation and is usually the only time you can get away with such faux-pas. but if you insist on going to the party drunk, you obviously don't want to be there, so make a quick appearance and a subtle but hasty retreat.

Stop drinking and start eating, esp starchy stuff like bread. It'll help absorbe the alcohol in your stomach before it can enter your blood stream. Good luck.

Leftover roast chicken (from the nearby Spanish eating place) with mushrooms in purple wine, grilled asparagus and potatoes, socca cake (chickpea flour pancake) with goat cheese and honey and a huge bowl of cherries for dessert!
