I heard a lady tell a friend that if you watch the eyes when you ask someone a question, if they blink, they probably lied and didn't if they don't. I though it was just the opposite. What is it?

I believe if the person looks up and to the left, they are making it up. If they look up and to the right then they remembering.

I have serious trouble telling when people are lying to me. Because I just don't I just expect people to tell the truth. They only do like half the time though. See if they MAINTAIN eye contact. Some very bad can lie to you while doing that but not many. Also, if and when people have a track record of being honest and telling more truth than they have to, then slowly start to trust them more.

Signs of Deception:
Body Language of Lies:
• Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space.

• A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact.

• Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand.

I dont think that has anything to do with it. Blinking is an unconscious movement usually.... So People blink at any Necessary time. I wouldnt think that means they are lying.

I heard if they look upwards or avert their eyes while talking to you, they are lying. Also looking towards a door, as they are wishing for "a way out" of a situation. I'm sure that there aren't any such "rules" that are 100%. They vary person to person...

I think that it would be difficult to use this information as the standard for everyone. People are different, and lies come out different from different people.

And if you are a pathological liar and actually believe what you are saying, chances are nobody will figure it out.

No it's how they look at you. If someone is lying they tend to look away from you or to the left.
