Being an atheist, I do not beleive in Heaven, Hell nor Gods.

However, in an earlier posting, I saw a comment that Satan was initially an angel who revolted against God, who then kicked Satan out of Heaven. And "Satan created Hell." Is this factual? Did Satan create Hell in the Christian tradition??

Source - Go screw yourself. I can ask anything I want. How can I fully deny a religion unless I fully understand it? Ignorance is not my game, but obviously yours. Jackass.

According to ancient Rabbinic tradition (the story of Lucifer and God is much older than Christianity BTW, it is a Judaic story), Yahweh created a place for Lucifer and his minons to go once they got thrown out of heaven, as Yahweh didn't want Lucifer to make his home on earth with the humans. It was not originally called 'hell' that name actually didn't come into use until about the 3rd century C.E. when the Christians took the name of a germanic goddess of the underworld (Hel) and created "hell" the place of punishment and home of the devil. There is much more to this, but i am pretty much out of space.

No, God created Hell for Satan when he revolted (it wasn't made for humans originally).

I remember coming across that in the Bible. Perhaps I deduced it from 2 Peter 2:4 where it says "For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment..." The word used for Hell there is the Greek word "Tartarus." Also, Satan is an angel so it can reasonably be assumed "angels" here includes Satan.

In the Christian tradition, Satan wanted to be God, therefore, God kicked Satan (originally the most beautiful angel) into hell, a place God made for Satan to reside for all eternity...

Or at least that is what the bible/ christians say.

There is no plural of God. God is only one, who has created the Heaven and the Hell.
Yes you are right, Satan was initially an angel, he did not revolted against God but he disobeyed Him (God) and did not bow his head in front of God when asked for that. So he was punished.
Satan is not the creator of hell...
According to Quran "God is the Creator of every thing." including Heven and Hell.
He created Heaven for those who will get reward for their righteousness and He created Hell for those who will be punished for their wrong doings.
God Bless you!!!!

The idea of fiery hell was created by the clergy who wants to convert people into their religion, to convert them out of fear.

Jeremiah 7:30 ‘For the sons of Judah have done what is bad in my eyes,’ is the utterance of Jehovah. ‘They have set their disgusting things in the house upon which my name has been called, in order to defile it. 31 And they have built the high places of To′pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin′nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.’

If the thought of burning children did not come up into God's heart, why would he create it?

The truth is, the real hell is the grave where all the dead are buried. Jesus went to hell also, he was there for three days as he was buried 3 days before he was ressurected.

Would you rather serve God because of fear of hell or because of love for him?

So is Satan in hell? it clearly says in Revelation 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; HE WAS HURLED DOWN TO THE EARTH, and his angels were hurled down with him.

The original meaning of the word hell. In Hebrew is THE GRAVE!

If you are refering to the metaphysical place called Hell it was created by God!

Revelation 17:8 makes it very clear that unless your name is written in the book of life before the foundation of the world that you are going to hell.
This does mean that we are not here to choose anything since well any name not written in that book before the foundation of the world (LONG BEFORE US) is going to hell.
HENCE NO FREEWILL!

Actually, a guy named Dante created Hell as we know it, figuratively. "Dante's inferno" Really he took the fire and brimstone too literally and wrote a book about the levels of hell and what he "saw" there. Before that, there was no hell, amazing isn't it. Hell was created by a man.

See, god is perfect, and everything is created by god.
God created man.
Man is imperfect, and chooses evil. But god didn't really create evil, although everything was created by god.
Now, god wants man to be good, but he gave them the choice to be evil. If we make the mistaking of choosing wrong, then god, out of infinite lovingkindness, will torture us forever. In hell, which even though he created everything, he may, or may not, have created.
Does that help?
