What would a male kindergarten teacher like for Christmas from us? Or our daughter? He is 29 years old. He is a GREAT teacher and we love him to death. This would be a lot easier if she had a female teacher, because the gift buying is easier, or at least I think that way. I was thinking maybe a gift card to Target? Is that a good idea? The Christmas isles at Target and Wal-Mart have those boxes of cookies and desserts, but he is a guy, would he like those? I know guys like cookies, I'm just thinking those are more girly. Oh I'm rambling, sorry.

I'm lost, any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Since we teachers spend quite a bit of our own money on classroom supplies, a gift card to any store such a Target, Staples etc. is VERY appreciated! (Actually, every gift is appreciated). Along with whatever you decide, include a brief note with the gift that lets him know what you told all of us about how you feel. I have kept all of the lovely messages from parents over the years and whenever I've had a rough day--they are indeed treasured reminders of the impact I've had. Happy Christmas!

My best friend is an elementary school teacher and she says that the best gift a teacher could possibly get are school supplies - or a gift card to a store where school supplies can be purchased. You may not know exactly what he needs, so a gift card should be the best way to go. I never knew that most teachers foot the bill for their supplies for their students. It's nice when parents can help out a bit. He'll love it.

Teachers say a heartfelt thank you note is kept and re-read, and is one of their most cherished gifts to receive. The best gift doesn't need to cost much. So, you don't have to spend a fortune to give a gift a teacher will love. Something that can inspire teachers is a perfect gift idea. You can consider an inspiring book for teachers- “Vision Revision: The Teachers’ Master Key to Career Success”. Teachers like it because the book is primarily a teachers’ guide to career management. You can also consider one-year subscription to the Teacher’s Digest for your dear teacher

I'd get him a gift card to Staples or Best Buy or something like that (a "guy" friendly place). Movie theater gift certificates are great, too. If you want to make it more personal, then have your daughter make him a card or bake him some cookies to give with the gift card. Good luck!!

I think your idea of a Gift Card to Target is perfect!
It is always nice to be able to go shopping after the holidays when all the sales are going on. Any amount will do. He could get a DVD, music CD or something else he would like.
I think you are great to think of this teacher and considerate to figure out what he would like.

Don't get him anything that says #1 teacher on it...please! A target gift card is a great idea.

Instead of actually gifting the teacher himself, why not buy something that would benefit the class as a whole? Since most teacher's end up footing the bill for materials/ supplies for the class why not purchase some materials/ supplies for the class? For instance hand sanitizer, art supplies, books for the room?

An assortment of the hand sanitizer lotions from Bath and Body Works or one of their candles would be nice. A gift card to a restaurant is a safe choice. Or a gift basket with an assortment of goodies in it.
