There are Catholic missionaries all over the world, including most major cities.
You'll usually encounter them in some of the most disgusting places on the entire planet.
Maybe that's why you haven't seen many.

it is rare for Catholics to evangelize in the same way as some Protestant denominations do, and even rarer to do door to door work, but some small groups within the church can and do this work, for instance, The Cursillo Movement.
the church still has many missionaries in places like Africa,Philippines and such places.

They do, but not the "door to door" thing utilized by Jehovah's Witnesses or the LDS Church. Catholic missionaries are generally outside the U.S. The Catholic Church teaches us to set a good example: "They will know we are Christians by our love..."
