If you google the error code several links show up regarding error after upgrading. You can check out the articles below to see if they fit and if not re-google with more specific information. What might work is to do a Perform a Repair Installation. Basically reinstall the OS back to the state of whatever OS disk you have. I have used this successfully many times and it is a sledge hammer approach to refeshing the OS files. No other data or applications should be affecting negatively.

If you do not have an actual OS disk, the recovery disk the company sent u probably resets the computer to the state it was in when u bought it, which means it can wipe data, so be careful.

place your windows OS CD into your pc and boot from it.
You will be prompted to a blue screen that asks if you want to re-install or repair windows.
Choose to repair windows.
That should fix it fine, as I have had the same error before.

What type of anti virus do you have, and make sure it is working.
You may have to reboot your system or reset your computer to a earlier time when it was running fine.
