Stick for The West Midlands

2006-12-08 04:58:52 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Coventry used to be a part of Warwickshire, but local government reorganisation in 1974 placed it in the newly created West Midlands Metropolitan Borough, where it has remained ever since.

(When I was a student in Coventry in 1980/81, many local people still regarded themselves as being part of Warwickshire; maybe any residents of Coventry answering your question could comment on whether this is still the case).

Not any more - It used to be but when the counties changed years ago they moved Coventry to the West Midlands, shame as Warwickshire is a nice place to live
