I have just got some new blinds for my living room window and I don't like them! I am looking for some suggestions on how to make them look half ok.

My living room has a large window which has an arch shape at the top. I was persuaded to get blinds and to put them 3/4 of the way up as it would look, "fashionable" and "cool!" Having seen them up they don't look either! It looks a bit silly, odd and unfinished. The only things I can think of are,
1) Burn them and get curtains - Not too keen on this as that is just added expense!
2) Keep them as they are - Certainly cheaper than 1 but not great
3) Move the blinds up as far as they will go. This would still leave a gap of between 2-4 inches between the blind and the highest point of the window.

Therefore I guess I have got two questions. Firstly does anyone have a 4th idea and secondly, if I went with 3 or 2 does anyone have an arty idea on what to do with the gap. Should I just leave it or try and fill the gap with something.

My husbands family ownes a blind/window treatment manufacturing company and my husband works as a sells rep for the southern states....They sell arch blinds for the top portion of your window that curves, that way you can cover the whole window.....as for the "half-way up" idea, it is a new thing that alot of people like because you can have privacy where you need it but always have the top part open to let the sunshine in.....if you let me know what state you live in i can find a store that sells our product and maybe u can find an arch blind...

I guess your interior decorator was "odd" Keep the blinds so the bottom touches your window sills and fill the upper gap with a co-ordinating fabric valance that matches your blinds or furniture. If you ever decide to change the blinds, think of getting ones that fit your entire window opening.

We have the same sort of window feature. We put the blinds up at the point that a semicircle of window was left at the top. We added a fan shaped panel above the blinds. It is a fabric panel just like a traditional window treatment but fan shaped.
