Don't worry about it. People swallow all sorts of things: cigarette lighters, AA batteries, etc. All of this stuff eventually passes.

If you are 100% confident that it was a penny or a coin, you are NOT any potential "major" danger! It will pass through your digestive system just like anything else you should eat/drink. The worst case scenario, it gets stuck along the "process" and you start getting back stomach pains, have trouble breathing or disc-comfort using the restroom.
If you swallowed something sharp (ex: such as a safety pin or tac) my advice would be to take a trip to the E.R and have them do some general X-Ray's just to make sure. If you did in-fact swallow a sharp object of some sort, it could cause a hemoridge, cut your stomach lining (basically the lining of anything in the digestive system if your stomach acid doesn't "eat it up" enough).
If you are pretty sure it was something of that nature, head on over to the E.R. and have them conduct X-Ray's. For future reference, try keeping your pills away from other objects that don't help you ;).

Even if you swallowed something other than the Tylenol, such as the penny or safety pin, it will "pass". Can I suggest that you don't leave medication lying loose in your purse - keep a bottle or container so that the meds don't pick up a bad taste from anything else you could have in the purse.

Not unless the safety pin was OPEN, then WOW. Surely you would know that is was a solid object or an open one. So let's just assume this was a penny, it's going to be OK, just don't junk around and in 24 hours, WALA, gone.

No danger yet. If it was a penny, a piece of candy will shoot out of your ***! If it was a safety pin, your pants will never fall down! Everything's cool!

Actually, I swallowed a penny just a few minutes ago, and I'm fine.
In fact, when I was a little kid, I swallowed a.....what was it? Okay, when I was little I swallowed a dime and a nickle or a quarter (i'm not sure which)
and I was just fine.
So, I think you'll be just fine.

I eat a number of coins as a kid and never noticed a thing, I've had xrays in the last year and they weren't there so they don't stay in your gut as is sometimes rumored, not that I really thought they did, but its a curious thought. They just get pooped out, but if you do have existing bowel conditions like restrictive injuries or something like that, I would A) not eat coins, duh, and B) watch for cramping, pain and especially fever. A common intestinal condition is divurticulitis where small pockets in the walls of the intestine get packed with feces or foreign material, these pockets can become a small cess-pool that can become terribly infected and even rupture. Regardless of a healthy digestive system or not, don't eat coins!
