I just purchased a used 2002 passat last week. After i drove off the lot and got on the freeway my clutch started slipping and smoking. I replaced the clutch as advised by a machanic and two days later it is slipping again. It does not slip in the morning only after the engine is hot and on hills ect. can someone please help me? I need some advice..

If you bought it off a lot take it back. Dont tell them you replaced the clutch yourself though. But I would check first to see if you are leaking any oil from the seam where the engine meets the trans. If you are, most likely the clutch is getting wet with oil , causing it to slip. It could be motor oil,or trans grease.
Depending on which seal might be leaking.

Definitely take it back to the mechanic who did the original repair!

I have had 3 Golf 5-speeds and ALL got over 175,000 miles on the ORIGINAL clutch... it should not have gone bad after just 60,000 miles!
