There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhamemd and narrated by most reliable sources (Bukhary, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Nasa'ii... etc.), which says that prophet Muhammed said that "he has been ordered to FIGHT people until they submit to Islam, and if they do so they can rest assured for the safety of their lives and properties".
I was surprised when I read that hadith because I have always thought that prophet Muhammed has not forced anyone to embrace Islam.
Does anyone have any explanation for that statement (Hadith)?

NOPE. not true. u misunderstood. he never wanted to fight, until the makkans attacked and instigated the muslims who were forced to move out of makkah, their home, and then he declared a holy war. the makkans stab them in the back, because muhamad had already signed a peace aggreement, but the makkans broke it. but that wasnt in makkah. muhamad and his followers traveled with no intentions of war to makkah years later.
when he got control of makkah, he made it clear to his ppl that nobody should ever be forced to convert...

and most of them who answered to put down islam with lies, they got the wrong info. ive been to those hate-islam sites. their just lieing to support each others insecurities.

Again and again and again you are getting this all from the wrong source. Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was the most peaceful man alive! You can't compare anyone's personality to his personality. He only faught those who faught him. He did preach peacefully about Islam and that to have Allah's Pleasure, one must believe in Allah and Muhammad pbuh as his last messenger.

Did god really order christians to harangue people about christianity until they submit to christianity? Kind of funny isn't it. Jews don't want to convert people (you must be born into their club or have a long conversion process). As time goes on Christianity comes up and those folks are instructed to convert people. Then as time goes by Muslims come around and are believed to have been told to fight until the conversion happens.
Do you think that the Judeo-Christian god is trying to tell us something? Or just the religious leaders? Maybe as time goes by the leaders felt this was the only way to get a raise - by getting more and more donations from the faithful?

Read the history of the islamic invasions. Muhammad ordered all to submit to Islam or die. God didn't order Muhammad to do anything.

3. Kill them (infadels, who refuse to repent) wherever you find them. This especially goes for those who intrude on your territory.
