Yes... but their missions have kept a low profile. They used ot be used as mercenaries but now they mostly do peace keeping missions. Anyone can join the Legion (including Americans).

yes it does and yes it still takes in anybody no matter who you are or where your from. It currently serves most of its time in Algeria and French Guyana as well as back up NATO from time to time. The above source is a good one.

Yes they still exist,they are based in Corsica since they are prohibited to be in mainland France and France has lost all of her colonies.
