Yeah...the vocal range. Well, I can say that I have a pretty good voice, and people consider me as a fairly good singer too. That's the problem. I do have a good voice, but has a very limited vocal range. Which means my singing ability is so, so limited. Well, I do practice every morning, when I take a bath, doing a 5 minute warm up while splatting water on my skin (Not a singing activity, just practice warm ups.). I started this warm up about three weeks ago, and I noticed a small effect. I understand that getting a high vocal range doesn't only take a blink of an eye, but I need some tips on how I could effectively improve my vocal range. Please don't answer if you're just planning to screw things up. Thanks! :D

I love the songs on the movie High School Musical...I'm trying my best to sing the best songs in there, though I couldn't reach some notes becoz my range is so limited. If you could also include websites which gives singing tips, please do so. :)

Just keep on doing warm ups and vocal exercises.
You might take voice lessons. Maybe there is a voice teacher at your school. They will be able to help you improve your singing.

It's really easy. Just practice scales in different keys, trying to hit a new note on each end of your range per week. Your lower range won't grow as fast as your upper range because of how your vocal chords are made. Don't forget to hold your throat like you're yawning while you sing so you don't damage your voice box.

It depends on your age first of all. If you're younger your vocal chords and throat area; all that stuff's growing and changing every day until about age 20. I would reccommend going to a professional for this; they know exactly what to do to accomodate your personal, specific needs; but you can do warm ups and scales. DO NOT push too hard though; it is very easy to damage your vocal folds. I would reccommend doing alot of breathing excercises. You need alot of breath support when you're singing high notes. Do lip trills and oxidizing breaths. Then try to extend...but take it VERY slow. Don't even expect a note a week; go at your own SLOW pace. Hope this helps.

HI!:) well i dont know if you think i would be much of a help, becuz i am only a 12 year old kid. SO IF U WANT TO READ ON.. THEN GO AHEAD
well. FIRST OF ALL,
1. i had performed in many performances(and yes i had performed songs from High School Musical;Breaking Free, When there was Me and You etc...)
2.i've won 3rd place in a singing competition
3. I LOVE MUSIC
4. and i take singing classes.

Now i mite be just a kid but i just hope that these could help you!
you have to do more then just warm ups. if you can, just pretend that you are yelling like a little girl.! BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT YELL TOO LOUD OR SO IT WOULD MAKE YOUR THROAT HURT!!!!!!

practice your breathing and make sure you always practice. it took me a year to reach a high note.

dont force yourself when you SING!!!JHJFH!J

if your head hurts or your jaw, it means you have to relax your muscles.

never force your voice or push it any further then you can go.

YOUR VOICE IS REALLY IMPORTANT AND ITS YOUR ONLY 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you want to find songs for High School Musical, i went on "MusicNotes.com"

there are many songs(u gotta pay though)
but i buy my songs there.

ITS worth it.

use your head voice. it is that squeky <----- or however u spell it
voice (girly voice)

and make sure u learn how to breath the proper way!!!!

remember!

cya
bye

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/0bdt8

i'm sorry but you can't take shortcuts if you really want to make the best of your voice. find a good teacher and let him/her help you find your way. it can be disastrous to try to extend your range when your middle register is still unsteady. you must be grounded well for you to be able to go high well. even naturally high voices have to strengthen their middle range to keep from having a spotty range. or to keep from ruining their voices. if you're young, you just have to sing songs that are comfortable for your voice, so that it becomes stronger. later on when your voice has settled, you can really start exploring and training harder. i find the songs from high school musical sung in a tortuously high range that should only be attempted by natural tenors or castrati (exaggerating, of course) (by natural, I mean pop tenors, classical tenors would sound funny singing those songs). don't be afraid of your real sound. if you were given a good baritone, find songs for baritones. every range is beautiful when used accordingly. some literature might just be out of your range but there are so many beautiful songs for every range. you just have to get out of that thinking that what are popular are the only songs worth singing. best of luck in your endeavours! hope you find a good teacher. :-)

You can increase your range. Just keep pushing your voice a little past where it's comfortable. However if you're a bass and trying to sing tenor, that will only go so far. Be careful not to damage your voice. Just take it easy.

Train your breathing regularly. Sing wile laying flat on your back with a hand on your stomach and notice how your diaphragm is working. Try to reproduce the same type of breathing when standing up. Make sure your neck muscles don't tensed up when you sing. Look for an Alexander Technique workshop to get your posture right.
