He just sucks the snot back up until he swallows it. I find this very revolting. He does not like the way a tissue or paper towel feels. He is 8-years-old and has never blown his nose. I have tried offering $20 and he still won't. What should I do?

I might be painful for him to blow his nose. When my daughter was younger she didn't like blowing her nose either. Found out that when she did blow her nose it hurt her ears. Eventually she outgrew the problem.

Do you still have a nasal aspirator? I say, you use that on him and I bet he won't like it. Tell him it's the nasal aspirator or he can blow his nose.
Don't discipline him for swallowing snot instead of blowing it into a tissue. It may be disgusting to you, but it isn't something I would deem punishable.

LOL OMG, this is so funny because my son also REFUSES to blow his nose. He even has allergies and is miserable sometimes but just will not do it. If he does, he just takes the tissue and squeezes his nose with it, he won't actually blow. I don't see how he can stand it. Sorry I couldn't help you but at least you know you're not alone!! lol

He has to blow his nose. That's really gross that he sucks it back in and swallows it. Try buying softer tissues and don't uses paper towels they're not soft enough.

Make him blow his nose!!!! If he is sick and has a runny nose that is the bodies way of getting the germs out of the body. And if he doesn't like it then thats just to bad cause it needs to be done.

Why not just give hm some decongestant medicine. Otherwise just let his nose run, he'll get to a point where he'll start wiping it .

I don't know about you guys, but as I was raised I learnt to do what I was told.........
I understand 8 year old's say"no", what I don't understand is how you accept that and try other ways like money.....

You don't need to bribe him, you just need to tell him to do it. This is basic hygiene that he needs to learn.
I don't really like the feel of toilet paper on my butt, but I still wipe it, eh?
