I use CB radio in the car, and FRS/GMRS radio as a portable walkie.

Yes! Many travelers use the CB Radio when driving, as well as Commercial Truck Drivers. CB Radio's are beneficial to someone that may be lost or need advice about a specific location in a not too familiar area. When I travel, I take one along for emergencies. Cell phones have dead zones throughout the country but a CB can be used anywhere! A good one can reach upwards of 15 miles distance. Also, police officers and highway patrolmen still monitor CB radios for reports of accidents, drunk driving, speeding and other hazards to the unknown driver.
