Do they make such a thing? Where do I find them?

Make your own. I take all of the crayons and peel the paper and then I put them in a muffin tin...an older one works best. Then you slowly melt them. They are perfect for little hands that are just learning to scribble.

Unbreakable Crayons

You will not find unbreakable crayons...however, some art stores have a crayon that is in a hard plastic tube, they work like mechanical pencils. However, the wax is softer then the crayola crayon. If your child is younger go for the big fat ones, as they are harder to break then the skinny ones.

Two of my favorite products in the store are Stockmar beeswax stick and block crayons. I used them as a child, and still enjoy them as an art medium today. The block crayons are great for backgrounds, the colors are rech and blend beautifully, and the stick crayons are practically unbreakable. They are easy for small children to make beautiful art with - by rubbings of leaves, using them under paints, or just drawing. Their colors are wonderfully brilliant, and the way they glide across any type of paper, glass, parchment, raffia or metal makes them great for all kinds of crafts. Once you have gotten your hands on these crayons you too, will be hooked for life.

Crayola just came out with a new crayon called "twistables". The crayon is inside a plastic tube that you twist to make more crayon come up out of the tube, kinda like eyeliner. I have found that these are the best to get with children who tend to break their crayons.

I found some with a coloring book that were 3/4 inch thick. Nothing my boy could do would break them unless he wanted to deliberately snap them which he didn't. The only thing they didn't survive was the dog eating them. I think I'm going to do the muffin tin suggestion. I'd heard it before but forgot. Good luck

We will not need fossil fuels long before we run out of them. Fossil fuels actually are infinite, because more are being made every day. The concern is that we consume them faster than they can be replaced. However, when you factor in that as the price rises, the consumption rate decreases and the viability and use of alternative sources increases, you realize that the point at which we will run out of fossil fuels entirely, is also an infinite variable.

They tried making these, but, the crayons were too hard for the children to eat and they went back to the breakable ones.

Ha! No...you're lucky they make washable crayons. Try the washable markers if you dont like the crayons breaking.
