Yes. And Jesus teaches when to properly beat your slave too: Luke 12:47. "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows."

The solution here is to pretend that you meant to knock out her eye. If you intend to knock out your slave's eye, then you aren't required to let her go.

Now, some people may think that God won't be fooled by that. But how observant can he be? He was surprised by Satan's presence in Job 1:7, so you can surely lie and say that you meant to knock out her eye.

God is not condemning b*tch slapping in Exodus, He is merely suggesting restraint.

Now go forth and be fruity while doing mental math.

If you follow the Old testiment law, Alot of Christians say that after Jesus came, no one should pay attention to the Jewish law anymore (except the 10 commandments)...some follow certain parts of it, but u have to realize that those were the old days, people were completely different, so were their lives, no one had the modern day minds that we have. There are alot of specific scenarios like the one u mentioned, if this happened, u do this, etc...that was their system of law...

According to Jesus, a slave should be treated the same as the master would like for God to treat them.

Exodus 21:23-26 (Amplified Bible)
23But if any damage follows, then you shall give life for life,
24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25Burn for burn, wound for wound, and lash for lash.
26And if a man hits the eye of his servant or the eye of his maid so that it is destroyed, he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.

Now what does JESUS say
Matthew 5:38-45 (Amplified Bible)

38You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.(C)

39But I say to you, Do not resist the evil man [who injures you]; but if anyone strikes you on the right jaw or cheek, turn to him the other one too.

40And if anyone wants to sue you and take your undershirt (tunic), let him have your coat also.

41And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].

42Give to him who keeps on begging from you, and do not turn away from him who would borrow [[a]at interest] from you.(D)

43You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy;(E)

44But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,(F)

45[b]To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].

JESUS LOVES YOU ALL AMEN

So, whoever transgresses the law in part transgresses the entire law. Is this true also for your husband?
