Obedience to the law is not the deal!
Having a personal relationship with God and His Son Jesus is the deal.
Once you have begun on that journey He will help you to be obedient to the law.
However no man is capable of being obedient to all of the law all of the time.
Galatians tells us if we were judged by the law, we would all be found guilty. But a personal relationship with God and His Son Jesus will help you along that journey and you will become more righteous with each passing day or year or decade.
Some are moved to obedience quickly and others God has His work cut out for Him.
But with God and Christ, you will become a better individual.

Who's God? The ten commandments are a good basis for social interaction but even some of them are out dated (don't covet your neighbor's donkey (this won't let me say ***) is one example). The best of God's laws was what we call the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Without a social conscience we would be little better than animals trying to survive.

You shouldn't. How do you even know if god exists? And if he doesn't *gasp* then why should an invisible's law dictate you? You should follow objective ethics and morality. Basically one rule, You have the right do do anything, as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others ( be it personal, property or idea).

Guillermo, what is Gods Law. Do you understand what it is that God wants for you. Do you understand what God wants from you. It is all about faith. Through your faith you will understand that there is no reason to ask why. because the answer is understood by those with faith before they can even ask the question. I believe is you listen, you will know the answer.

Dont...Live your life how you feel you should..But do not say in the end that "NO ONE TOLD ME"!!! or any such nonsence. All of you on this chat board. Remember the words that were typed on these boards. Remember you had a chance. I can almost say for certan that these words will come rushing back to you one day...If you honestly what to know the truth. Open your mind and read books on both sides..NOT JUST THE ONE YOU HOPE or WANT to believe. I have. And you will see the truth.

For peace of mind. There is peace in obedience to the Lord. Truly the rewards are great and you really will not feel deprived like you think, you'll actually feel more free. Release from bondage.

It's absolute and universal...
You can summarize the 10 commandments into the statement "love God and one another"
Love, or the lack of it, is the basis of all our interactions in life.
Everyone innately knows this is true.
All of mankind's greatest books, songs, movies, and beliefs are based on this experience we know as love.
God's laws are as well, knowing what is best for us all.
That is why we have free will, to chose what we want to do.
God could command it, but that would not be love... just fear and obedience.
Love, to be love, must be given.
God showed His love for us through Jesus Christ.
The greatest expression of love one can give, is to give their life for someone else.
Becoming a Christian, that is believing in who Jesus is and what He did (faith), we show our love to God.
The ultimate form of our love for God, here on earth, is to love Him enough to give our lives to Him.
Allowing Him to be the Lord of our lives.
Being God, creator of all things, He is deserving of all our love and respect, of our own free will.
That is why we exist... to love God and others.
God's Law.

Well God has those laws because He loves you(yes, you). You obey His laws to show you love Him, too.
