Obviously both sides have people who are not searching for truth, who are ignorant and just try to muscle their beliefs to others through childish questions that lack objective knowledge and understanding of the faith in question---whether it be atheism or theism---and just seek to anger others and convince themselves because they don't truly believe what they claim. Everyone needs to respect and love each other regardless of their faith and call out those who are not living up to this standard of human dignity. It would be nice if people could actually come to this forum knowing that they would take something away from it instead of leaving the forum and resuming their day/life hating Christians or Atheists or Muslims or Jews or Agnostics or...whatever. Every single one of us is in the same boat. Can we work together and actually get somewhere instead of rowing in place?

I'm not an atheist. I'm not antiatheist. Im not agnostic . I'm not anti-agnostic. I'm a person who has to put up with hatred, bigotry, inflammatory remarks, bad government, and people who missunderstand the Bible. God is not the god most people thinks he is. He's all around us . He's the love we pass from one to the other. He's the understanding in your heart toward an atheist and a bigot. He's you when you're doing the right thing.

It's just normal for some humans to go to great lenghts for their beliefs.
Most closed-minded christians wont let anything be worth thought provoking. They just can't stand the thought of God not existing. Same with atheists, they just can't stand the thought of God existing. It's ridiculous.
As sad as it may be, most christians only believe in god because they are scared to go to hell. (I'm not saying this to offend anyone, it's the truth). Only the true christians believe in god because it makes them happy. I have nothing against Christianity or Atheists...I'm Wiccan.
I believe that you should believe in whatever makes you happy.
We are just human. The world wouldn't be anything without disagreements.

I even have surely heard that one in the previous. that is greater utilising the understanding "gay" interior the connotative derision experience than specially bearing on "gay" as in gay. in case you have ever considered schoolyard youngsters use the term "gaaaa-aaay!" to communicate with something that's undesirable, that's in reality the same element. It borrows on the assumed unfavorable connotation that's variety of pervasive throughout the time of a subculture that's predominantly non secular, inspite of each thing, and recast the same magnitude of aspersion on atheists. that is rather an attempt by using theists to experience clever because of the fact they have have been given not something as an occasion that their brains surely artwork. actual, believing with out information and not having any information on which their perception equipment rests on the same time as concurrently denying information and staking declare to outright falsehoods won't be defensible in any way. that's additionally, why, for occasion apologists who seem in debates will attempt to apply greater diffused insults including attaching the understanding "materialism" to technology, in order that it could carry with it the connotation of "materialistic", on the same time as technically bearing on a separate philosophical stance, that's at terrific, partly via technology. that's the same worry-loose tactic. you will possibly discover different examples like "evolution --> evillusion"...

Some people are just smart asses (like me)...and really, they're just words. Some like to ruffle feathers and I honestly see nothing wrong with that. I'm not easily offended and I often forget that others are highly sensitive about a number of subjects.

Your friends might be a small minority where you live. Could be tough on them. I live in a high population of atheists and enjoy atheist slurs. Have at me!

I don't really slur. I try to speak clearly most of the times. I probably slur when I'm tired.......
Atheism to be nasty. I don't need atheism to be nasty. I can use religion to be nasty.

Atheists are the least trusted group, according to a recent survey.
We get a bad rap because religious people are uncomfortable with us being around.
