I still dont hear any of the religious types contradicting the idea that all humans came from adam and eve. If we did the incest would have resulted in very severe abnormalities... such as the mental retardation seen in religious folks (hmm.. thats got me thinking)

You know the real answer to this I think from the phrasing of the question. If you want to know where you came from pick up Darwin, not the bible. The bible might be 'the good book' but the Origin of Species is a better one.

Depends very much in which text your reading. According to the rabbonic tradition God created Lillith and Adam, first but because she refused to take a submissive role in sex she left Adam and Adam was lonely thus creating Eve from Adam's rib. Some even say there is a third wife between Lillith and Eve - who goes un named but Adam found to be too ugly to behold! Cain, Abel and Seth are specifically named in Genesis - However other accounts even claim eith Cain or Abel had twin sisters! Possibly leading to up to about 9 children. Whichever way you look at it there had to be some 'close' family bonding going on!! Nice!!

The bible is metaphorical and should never be taken literally. Although, unfortunately many ignorant people do. To truly decipher the bible would take years of meditation and a higher thinking that frankly only a handful of people in the world would possess.
There are some "rules to live by" which incidentally are the same no matter what religion or way of life one has/uses. Those rules or ways appear to simply define how we come in to the world anyway. Full of love and the need to connect and care about our fellow living beings. We use books to try to make sense of reality when all along, we know reality. It is when we begin to get older that we are taught fear and inadequacy.
Take what you will from the Bible but remember that it is a very dangerous tome in the hands of the ignorant.

Adam and Eve didn't just have two boys. They had several children, but the bible only lists the relevant ones to the matter at hand as otherwise it would be too big to contain in one book. The idea of incest came about because of the taint of evil in the blood which caused mutations in the children of close relatives. Back in Adam and Eve's time that taint was not so strong so their children could marry and raise children without problems. Incest was not a taboo in those times as it only came about to prevent the mutations I spoke of ealier. So Adam and Eve's sons married their sisters.

Ive learned a lot on this topic. Grab yourself a Strongs Concordence and read Genesis. I believe there were other people on Earth. Make sure you have a King James version of the Bible, I dont like the New International.

If you check the Bible, Genesis 4:11, it is written, The Lord said,
"You are hereby banished from this ground which you have defiled with your brothers blood. No longer will it yield crops for you, even if you toil on it forever! From now on you will be a fugitive and a tramp upon the earth, wandering from place to place." Cain replied to the Lord, "My punishment is greater than I can bear. For you have banished me from my farm and from you, and made me a fugitive and a tramp, and EVERYONE who sees me will try to kill me."
So as you see, there are already people outside of Eden, before Cain is evicted and takes a wife. In my opinion, those outside of Eden were Neanderthals, descendants of our primate ancestors, but that's a different story. So, to answer your question, we are not all descendants from brother and sister, incest, although I wonder about some people.

You see, Moses wrote the first five books of the Boble and he did not spend a lot of time explaining things like the Nephelin (giants)in Gen 6 for one thing. My understanding is, he did not mention all the kids Adam and Eve had, he just skipped that and went onto the next interesting even, that of the very first murder. Moses, covered the very first sin, and then the very first murder, then moved onto other things, just barely touching on them like giants and towers and an ark, then he stops to tell you all about Abraham and what a rightious man dude he was.

Would you please just try reading the Bible!!!!!
Adam and Eve had Cain, Abel, Seth and other sons and daughters.
READ GENESIS 1,2,3,4,5,6

When Cain was punished and sent to the Land of Nod, GOD put a mark on him so the other people would know and be warned not to harm him, and then the Bible says and Cain KNEW his wife and they had a son Enoch.

GOD DOES NOT PROMOTE SIN.

Adam and Eve had Cain and Able Cain killed Able because they both wanted to marry the same sister even tho they had more than one. First instance of jealousy recorded in the Bible. In those days, God deemed it ok to have brother/sister relations, no one else to procreate with until the mosaic law.
