I need some things cleared up. I like dressing nice and wearing fancy things (im a guy) all the time. Everyone in my family wears nice stuff like rolex's on a daily basis. Im 18 and my dad offered to buy me a rolex (something under 15000). Some women say they only date guys with nice cars etc.. and some women say they find a nice guy with a car a turnoff (overcompensating for somehitng). If i buy a rolex will women think i am overcompensating for something or will they like me more because of it? I'm not a jerk im a decent guy with a good personality.

It depends what kind of person you are hoping to meet. A really nice girl would like you with or without a Rolex.

If you are a decent guy with a good personality, you won't need a Rolex, fancy car, or anything that shouts 'I've got money' to get a girl. Without these things on show, you can be sure you won't attract any gold-diggers. Flash them at your peril!

Personally, it makes no difference to me if folk have these things or not. What I don't like are folk who flaunt them or boast about them. Equally, there are folk out there who notice these things, and will judge you according to what you wear/drive rather than who you are. My advice would be, if you want to get to know genuine folk, girls or otherwise, then avoid wearing/driving the flash gear until you have got to know them.

As to how girls generally view blokes with nice cars, I can't really comment, as I have a nice car myself, and am a bit of a petrolhead too, so I can identify with a guy's love of his wheels! In fact, I'm not your typical female, because I enjoy talking cars! However, I have no time for the anoraks, whose idea of fun is to spend winters evening stripping down an engine! All I want to do is get out there and drive, and perhaps have a few performance enhancing mods!

Keep the Rolex for best. Buy something else for everyday, less ostentatious. Keep the gold diggers at bay and sort the genuine from the fakes. Of course, you could always say your Rolex is a fake - the girls for whom this is not part of your attraction won't bother, whilst the gold diggers will soon lose interest!

At the end of the day, it's not what you wear/drive, it's how you wear/drive it! Good style is not about money, it's about sense and flair- and you either have it, or you don't.

Best of luck.

its not a turnoff nor a turn on! its all about u.

sure fancy things can make you attracted to a person, but if the guys a jerk... thens he kicked to the kerb!

just be yourself, if u want a rolex - get one, and wear it with pride... but dont ever think your better than the guy next to you with a "nike" watch!

if u tend to brag about how much youve got, total turnoff! but im sure you dont, as being part of a nice family, hopefully you would of been brought upto know that material things mean **** when your a lonely old spinster

merry christmas huni,

This post is obviously BS, but if you're going to spend some $$$ on a watch, don't buy a Rolex. They are pieces of crap. Spend your money on a good watch like a Patek, Piaguet, Citizen, Omega or even a Cartier.

Shouldn't matter bud. However, if it helps, buy me the Rolex so you don't have to worry about these things! Always happy to help. Oh, if you have the same problem with a new car, again, just buy me it. You'll feel so much better!

Its about why YOU want to wear the rolex. People will judge/ make their minds up regardless of how you want them to feel, and they'll all do it in their own way. If you want the rolex, have it, some will like it, some won't, that's the way it'll be.

Growing up is your first move. Throw the Rolex in the bin and stop bragging about how rich you are. I find you a total turn off

Nothing wrong with a clean, nice dressed man. Overcompensating would be ....flashing your wealth to make you noticable. I hope you find a woman who can love you for what is on the inside..not the outside.

If you have a nice personality why do you need all these expensive gimmicks to find a nice girl. They are in any case totally superficial and no doubt if you go about flaunting them make you look superficial as well

I think it depends on what kind of girls you are trying to attract.

Spoiled little rich girls will not be impressed so much but will think you are good enough for them to associate with.

Middle class girls or girls from poorer families will think it is a sinful waste in a world where people go hungry unless they are gold diggers, then they will be very attracted.
