Of course we have atheists in politics, just as we have atheists in life. However for most people who oppose things like what you have mentioned the issue has never been, and never will be the idea of being offended by the image of Christ in the manger or anywhere else. It's the idea of the whole thing being supported and funded by the govt. For example the manger scene that was so prevalent on court house lawns, payed for by the tax payers, which in the eyes of some is a direct violation of the constitutions prohibition of the state establishing religion. And like it or not they're right,if the govt pays for it and places it,then they are indeed showing that this is the proper religious dogma in their eyes, and that any other belief is invalid in their eyes. It is by the very action an establishment of religion, just like putting in god we trust on money, which was proposed in the late 1800's and not as some would have you believe something passed down from our founders. In fact the motto passed down from our founders E Pluribus Unum( From Many One) is derived from the very idea that many would indeed have differing ideas, but that we were greater as a whole because of it,not in spite of it. Things like the In God We Trust motto spit in the face of that very founding ideal by inferring that any other than Judeo Christian need not apply in helping to build this country into the great nation it has become.
YULE TREE!! YULE TREE!! Did someone hurt your little feelings up there, holy cow! Please show me anywhere in the Bible that shows anything about a frigging tree,I need to see that. Especially since almost everything about Christmas can be traced to some earlier pagan tradition, even the "ressurrection" which was done earlier in the worship of Baal.

I do not know how to best answer this but....people are becoming more entrenched in the world around them and Christianity is taking a direct hit. Which, undortunately is nothard to understand. From an outsiders point of view, who would belong to a group that judged everyone, condemned them to hell yet allowed their own holy people to sin blatantly in some pretty outrageous ways, and yet we leave them in power or send them to other posts rather than to judge them and condemn them to hell.I think it is a matter of the people who claim to follow a certain teaching but truly do not, yell louder than those of us who do so we are pushed to the background. And as a result the bigots, liars and fake christians become the representation that we get in the face of the general public. Why would you not demean such aggressive hypocrisy? If you want to put Jesus in a manger in your own yard or in a nativity scene inside, there is no problem with it. I guess they simply feel like it is just one more reminder of the hypocrisy they see as christianity.

First of all Christmas is a much older celebration and was adopted as Jesus' birthday.
Some people want to have a winter celebration with their families and not have to be Christian to do it.
That being said. I'm not a Christian. My mother is Jewish but I am not offended by seeing baby Jesus in a manger or looking at a nativity scene becuase I understand that there are many different beliefs around the world and I can see them all existing in harmony.

I never understood that. Here, unless the manger is on chruch or private property, they put a huge (6') blow up manorah next to it. How can one faith be offensive where another isn't? How many people would complain about the manorah? None. How many complain about the manger set? A lot.

Jesus will never be " Taken out of christmas ".
Christ - meaning jesus or lord.
Mas - Lord in Javanese, and /or carnival or festivities.
I am not one to belive or not to belive but I have always known that we celebrate christmas as the birth of Jesus. As for the people who have lost sight of the true meaning, I feel sorry for them.

I have a question for YOU.
If Christ Jesus is in your heart, must He also be diplayed everywhere in the public sphere?
Please, do set up your nativity display in front of your house. I might even drive by to enjoy it.
Most of them are quite pretty.
But do NOT use my share of tax money to set one up in front of a government office, or at a public park, or any publicly-funded place.
And BTW, the "reason for the season" is the Earth's axial tilt.

In all honesty,Jesus was never 'in' Christmas. His birth has nothing to do with Christmas.Scriptures puts his birth closer to October.Christmas was a pagan celebration that was fused into apostate Christianity.
Secondly,Jesus is not a baby in a manger anymore. He has been reigning as King of Jehovah God's Heavenly Kingdom since 1914.If anyone should take offense it should be Christ!

Incorrect - it's typically a misinterpretation of the intent. Every story I've investigated has either been this OR has been an isolated case where even the ACLU stepped in to SUPPORT the Christian's right to have Jesus included.
If you can provide the specific case, we can examine it and make sure that our perceptions aren't doing a great deal of filtering.
