bought a pyle amp off ebay, they claim its 4000 true rms, hooked it up doesnt even sound like 100 watts.what am i doing wrong? it is 4ohms. please help. model number is PLA 2840.

your not doing anything wrong. Pyle is just a horrible brand. sell it and let this be a lesson to you for buying cheap car audio. you get what you pay for.

The person that sold it to you may have shammed you. Even Pyle doesn't claim it to be 4000w RMS. They claim 4000w MAX power. This amp produces 300w RMS x2 @ 4ohms and 450w RMS x2 @ 2ohms. This would come out to be 600wRMS bridged @ 4ohms. It is all in the manual. Next time be sure to research products carefully before buying, there are lots of people that will lie about what they are selling.

Also, you might have not turned the gain (input sensitivity) up at all. The knob on the amp? There are several.
