Frankly, no. I wouldn't have seen a new family as adequate compensation for losing my first family, either.

Yes. And even though I'm not Job, I am still satisfied with Gods answers. Only though him do I have a wonderful life

It took me a few times reading that to read the name Job and not the word 'job'..but I get it now. :)
I think clearly anyone that answers 'no' was ~not~ Job for a reason. The reason God chose Job was because he was probably the most humble, godly man in the history of the Earth. So I could have never 'been Job'. Did I cheat on this answer without really answering it? Sorry...answered as best as I could :)

No, and I don't think if there was a Deity they would be so petty as to subject the creation they supposedly love to such suffering just to prove a point and win a bet. I think it is rather inconsistent to believe God is so loving that they would intervene in your life to fulfill some wish or request and yet still be the same God who did these things to Job.

I would have kicked God to the curb if I were Job. The story of Job is only proof that God either has no comprehension of the human condition,or he doesn't care. Every act upon Job by God is borderline evil.

I would like to think so but in all honesty I would have to say probably not. After all I am a selfish human. I would hope I was never tested like Abraham either...I know I couldn't take my child and even come close to sacrificing him/her. Lukily none of those things are asked of us today. We prove ourselves through accepting Jesus and living the most Christlike life we can.

It's like the old saying my dad gave me...when he gave me a spanking once; "Son, this is going to hurt me more than hurts you." To which I replied: "Oh, then give me the f*cking belt." To which he beat the hell out of me. If you were Job, what kind of an answer can you give to an all powerful being who has control over you? If he killed you for smarting off to him, he could bring you back from the dead and wup yo @ss some more.

Job and God are fictitious characters in a big, propagandistic fairy-tale you all know as The Bible.

Dear K:
Your name indicates the level of your sincerity?
Summon up as much humility as you can and read Isaiah 29:16.
Its about clay, potters and the thing made.

If I can choose, I prefer to be God and not Job. I don't like difficult jobs.
