It is deeper- It is knowing and believing that Jesus Christ is our savior and having a relationship with him and our God.

I know going to church has nothing to do with it. If you've ever been a member of a church and the pastor is caught doing unimaginable things you'll know why. The message can be obtained through many sources on a daily basis , not just on Sundays from a person we may not trust if we knew more about him.
Being a Christian is first and foremost an absence of hate. That's been pretty rampant among SOME people who like to call themselves Christian. Thank God there are still decent people from all religions. Some of those decent people have more in common with each other than some people from the same religion. Kindness and humanity comes in all shapes and colors. It can even come from other religions.
When Joel Osteen said that he thinks that there are people from other countries and other religions who are such wonderful human beings and sacrifice their own lives to better the lives of others that he doubts if God will send those people to hell just because they're not Christian, he received death threats and hate mail from "Christians" for months (and still does). That kind of hate and judgment can't be right. Jesus was about peace and love, not hate and murder.

It is something deeper. You have to be baptized and brought up by your parents to believe in God. Or you have to meet someone that will show you the way to become a christian. You need to follow the Ten Commandments, which includes going to church on Sunday. Reading the Bible is a big help.

Most Christians don't live a Christian way of life. Here in America especially, many Christians (protestant) have formed their own churches and have tweaked them to fit their emotions, conveniences, etc. Most Christians (protestant) are racist. You will never hear of an all black Catholic church or an all black Muslim church? Same as you will never hear of an all white Catholic church? Only the protestant christians do this. Being a Christian means living like Jesus did. That means, loving your neighbor, no matter how much of a pain in the *** they are. It means to forgive someone for harming you, or spreading gossip about you. It means to help out the elderly, the poor, and to pray for everyone, even your worst enemies. Most of these protestant ministers, pastors don't live this way. They are all rich, and although they do give to charity, it is all tax free and they get a huge fat check come tax time. So it means something a lot deeper. When you think Christian, don't think billy graham or joel osteen. Think Pope John Paul II or Mother Theresa, they lived the Christian way of life.

Both. Going to church is visiting God and spending some time with Him and learning about Him--which should encourage us to live holy.Being baptized fulfills scripture. But, we need to read the Bible daily, witness to other(not pushy or judgemental), pray daily, and help others-volunteer at a nursing home, church, hospital, red cross, etc. All of these will help you to have a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Something much deeper: faith. So many people miss the point of going to church. It's not to worship, it's not to praise, it's not to tithe. These things can be done anywhere, anytime. The purpose of church is fellowship; the relationships and support you get from people of the same faith makes you a stronger Christian, and deepens your faith.

You must ask God for forgiveness for all your sins, you must be sorry you sinned and want to change, then you must realize that Jesus is the son of God and he died for you. Last you must ask Jesus to come into your heart as your personal savior. Salvation is a free gift, you cannot earn it. You read the bible, pray and go to church because you are a Christian and want to learn more about the Lord and be as close to Him as possible.

MUCH deeper you have to belive and worship God and YOU HAVE to be saved by him to be a real christians. going to church is where it starts if you are not one. but for people who are already are christians going to church is where you get together and worship GOD. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PERSONAL REALATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST TO BE A TRUE CHRISTIAN. which mean u have to be saved.which is easy to be saved all you have to do is admit that you are a sinner and if you do really beive in GOD then ask him to come into your life. A real christian are saved and live the way God would want them to live. The others if they are not saved and do not live the way God wants them to and they say they are a christians are not true christians.

Accepting Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and asking him to forgive you of your sins makes you a Christian. :) Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a burger. We're saved by faith, not by actions, so simply 'doing good deeds' without a relationship with Jesus, without being saved, will not get you to Heaven. Please read your Bible. God bless!
