Considering Jesus taught against the teachings of the Eternal Covenant, I personally can only view him as a tool of the Accuser and Adversary. When the teachers saw him casting out demons, he famously commented, "A house divided cannot stand." However, a house working in unison for deceptive goals can. If Satan had those people held by demons just so he could say, "Go home boys," it would look like he was 'casting them out' but in fact it would have been a pre-arranged scenario for the purpose of leading people away from the one who is divine.

In short, my view is that Jesus's miracles were empowered by the 'holy spirit' which is Satan.

Your thoughts?

[Heh, wonder how long it'll take this to get a violation. Ah well, every truth is hated by the people it proves wrong...]

Never thought of it that way. Just wrote him off as a false prophet, you might have a valid point though.

I think Jesus had a point. He did cast out those demons. The power of the HOly spirit is Gods Power. The energy, the direct link from Gods power to Jesus is the Holy Spirit. It is what once blessed Satan, but he now uses his powers for trickery's sake. He misuses the Holy Spirit. I think God endowed all his Angels with this, and the bad ones still have it and use this power in an unholy and tricky way. Hence why so many people can cast out Demons today. But SOme come back and some dont. The cases where demons are forever cast out not to come back, were exorcised by the holy spirit. The ones where Demons still come back or haunt places, is the Devil and demons making it seem as if these men have the power they cliaim in regards to exorcism.

Why should this question shock us? As stated in previous answers, the Jewish leaders didn't deny that he has "special" powers, but attributed to the Satan, just as you have. It's amazing that the only ones who really knew who Jesus was were the demons. And he told them to be silent, which is consistant with what Paul did when he cast out the unclean spirit in the the slave girl in Acts 16. God does not need the testimony of demon to convict people. On the contrary, one should always disregard them.

Jesus dealt with this argument effectively in Matt. 16. You recognize a tree by it's fruit.

Was there a plan? Oh yes, from the beginning. With over 300 prophecies concerning their Messiah found their fulfillment in Jesus. The Jewish leaders should have recognized him.
Some of them did. Nicodemus believed because he saw the miraculous sings and determined that God was with him.

When the Jewish leaders came looking for him to perform a miracle, he responded by saying "no sign will given to a wicked and adulterous generation except the sign of Jonah" That is his resurrection.

That is the question one should be asking. Did Jesus really rise from the grave? That is the sign or the test.
His closest disciples believed that he did. On the first feast after passover, they preached a crucified and RISEN Christ. They quoted many Old Testament prophets concerning the death and resurrection of God's Holy one.

In my opinion, either 1)the story of Jesus was fabricated by his closest disciples and preached and believed around the world or 2)Jesus really was the one John the Baptizer claimed he was "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world".

Why would his closest disciples live their lives in poverty, travelling around the world, being persucuted, beaten, eventually being martyred for a lie?
What fools were they would have been. Or as the Apostle Paul said, who was not a original Apostle, Paul said in the context of teaching about Jesus' resurrection "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men." Why would they sacrifice all for a lie. They were the ones who suffered the most, just like their master.

Every sermon recorded in the book of Acts mentions his death and resurrection. It is foundational of the Gospel. The New covenant would replace the first (Jer 31)

Paul states that "he was declared power to be the Son of God by his resurrection" (Rom 1:4) The sign of Jonah.

I was an unbeliever, until I examined the evidence. Boy did I make a dramatic change.

To say Jesus' power was derived from Satan, ignores the facts of the transformed lives of his apostles, all preaching his resurrection, calling all men to repent, including Gentiles (which also was prophesied). Does Satan want us to obey God? He wants us to rebel against God.

As Jesus said a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.

It's a little known fact that Jesus had a small green ring that had an impurity within it that allowed him to perform miracles. He had to recharge it every night in a lantern, and every time he'd do this, he'd famously comment:
In brightest day
In darkest night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power...Green Jesus's Light!!!

And if you believe the compeletly baseless, totally conjectural post of the original poster, you could lend just as much credence to my post. He was the Son of God, dude. Demons trembled before him, and he even resisted the temptations of Satan for 40 days in the desert. I don't think he was in cahoots with the Devil.

That is a very intelligent representation of what the Jews thought at that time. That's also the reason they killed him. They did consider him blasphemous and evil. Some called him the devil incarnate.

Seriously, wouldn't you consider the same thing if someone did that right in front of your very eyes?

Does make some sense. Actually a lot of sense. Was demon possessio and casting out ever part of the old testament. I'll have to double check.

Yeah....I know some other dudes that made that same claim.

"And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, 'He has Beelzebub,' and, 'By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.' ...'Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is **subject to eternal condemnation**; because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit'" (NKJV, emphasis added / Note: The Pharisees made the same charge in Mat 9:34.).

And how did Jesus teach against the teaching of the Eternal Covenant? You've got a lot of work to do before this becomes a valid question.

You, my dear, have proved nothing. You have altered what is written to support your own conclusion. Which is fine and all, this is why God gave us the brains He did, to learn and make our own decisions. But just so u are informed, Jesus would not say the source of power He was blessed with. But Jesus was so perfect, so sinless, so ideal, so loving, God blessed Him with the power of His own. Hard for the foolish to understand I know, but if you study the bible a little, you may fathom. If you open your mind to the light that rises everyday that is.:o]

It might ... but you forget something ... Jesus was confronted to Satan himself in the desert. It was a confrontation .. not a friendly happy hour. And he won (Jesus).

And his power comes from His Love for all humankind and earth. He gathered friends from different social origins around him, gave pardon to the ones who wanted to be his ennemies, respected the prostitutes and the crippled and gave his life for all.
