I have a project to do on the book, The Hunt for Red October, and I have to create a world of work portfolio for my main Character, Jack Ryan. He was a second Lieutenant in the US Marine corps Via Naval Reserve officer training corps until he was medically retired after a bad helicopter crash. He earned a degree in econimics in college, before the Navy. In the novel, he currently works as a CIA analyst. So what careers are possible for him? I'm leaning toward something in the Navy or something that has to do with submarines? By the way, he's too nervous to fly in planes.

As a Marine, he wouldn't have been on a sub. He might have been assigned to a Marine detachment on a Aircraft Carrier.

A Marine Officer would have been sent out as a Platoon Leader. He could have specialized in Communications, Artillery, Infantry, Supply. Some would have been Forward Observers. Lots of possiblities.

And he wouldn't have referred to himself as having been in the Navy. He was in the Marine Corps.

properly as for the different branches in elementary terms taking the scraps left in the back of from the Marines. the criteria are not so diverse. all of them artwork off of DoD funds. except the CG, And the Marines' funds comes from the army, so as that they have got even a lot less money. So the criteria are quite similar. The AF is of route more advantageous choosy than say, the military. yet military and Marines have similar criteria. As for Marine existence, you look to have the favor to do it. yet from what i have heard, this is compared to on the television commercials, i'm somewhat confident they have crappy residing situations(as they have a smaller funds) And if i'm not mistaken, the Marines have a 4 365 days lively settlement, so imagine carefully previously signing that settlement. and also you may't connect at 17 without their permission, in elementary words you comprehend if there's a shot at convincing both one in each and every of them(except one is lengthy gone from the picture) to help you in. so that you could besides wait till eventually 18, then confer with a recruiter. in truth, confer with a recruiter as we talk, and enable him comprehend your difficulty. yet do not ignore that a recruiter is a salesperson, a twin of the television commercials. in case you opt for to be a Marine, i do not propose you agree for the army. settle for not some thing lower than what you opt for. do not signal an open settlement both, in case you do, assume to easily accept a crappy pastime. you gained't get to be infantry, yet i'm confident you'll make a very good Marine. end your extreme college degree, and powerful luck including your destiny protection force career.
