I have a mini schnauzer and I always take her places and take her around other people, but she is always barking at everything that moves and it drives me crazy sometimes. I also know that it gets on other nerves as well. She is very sweet and I think she does it so she can xtra attention but when I tell her to stop she just keeps on going.
(She is an indoor dog, it just she barks at everything) Any suggestions??? Please???

You have to use negative reinforcement; get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Every time she barks, spray her once in the face, while saying "Hush that Noise" or something along those lines. It may take awhile, but it should alleviate the problem. Schnauzers are not the brightest dogs in the world, but with patience, perserverance and love, they can be trained.

You need to show her that you are the lead dog in your pack. Place your hand firmly on her head when she barks and say, "No!" You do not have to shout or repeat yourself and in fact I don't recommend you do so. By placing your hand on her head and keeping it there, you are saying to her in dog language, I am ahead of you in the pack and your behavior is unacceptable. Stop. If you can, look her in the eyes when you say it and do not be the first to look away. Do this every time she barks inappropriately. Eventually just telling her "no" should do it.

I agree with the squirt bottle. My dog barked at everything, now I just show her the bottle and she quiets down.
You have to give the "quiet" command, squirting them with water is only to interrupt their barking long enough so they hear what you are saying.

negative reinforcement would work but then when its time for you to take your dog a bath, she'll be scared of water because of spraying her everytime she barks. I suggest that you distract her with something she likes, give her a toy to keep her company, something that she could bite her teeth in.

when she wont stop keep a long sock with you wrap it over her muzzle cross under her chin tie behind her head don't pull so tight it puts pressure on her throat take it off when she settles down repeat as necessary also reward her for not barking if she meets someone new and behaves positive reinforcement is great
