Do you want an opportunity to judge a pastor for being greedy?
I hear so much on here about pastors being greedy & money hungry. Now that may be true for some, but here is an opportunity for you to look at a real pastor & judge.

1. I am 32, married, with 3 kids
2. We have a house that costs us $930 a month (incl. esgrow)
3. We have 2 cars, a 93 Mercury Villager (150,000miles) & a 95 Honda Accord (170,000 miles)
4. Our tv is 15+ years old & is a 32"
5.We have cable internet & one phone line.
6. We have no credit card debt
7. We get $90 a week to spend on groceries, $50 a week for gas/maintainance for our cars.
8. We have clock radios & 2 $30 boom boxes
9. Our computer cost us $400 new.
10. We could be making more money. I was making much more when I worked in a coorporation.
11. Oh, and we give $100 a week to both our church, and to others.
12. Last, we are very happy...we have definately been blessed!
13. Our church is large.
14. Giving =/= salvation at our church.

Grim Jack, you didn't read the question all the way through...although yes, you did a good job for a satanist.
Oddly enough I have studied satanism enough to know that you really don't believe in him...you are more agnostic. That being said....I don't know, have a nice day?.

frankly, most pastors don't make very much money
they also take an awful lot of criticism and at least one I knew had a nervous breakdown from burnout. The helping professions are notorious for high burnout and low pay

I would not consider my pastor greedy
often they make so little that their wives work to somehow build up a better retirement or get decent medical benefits

some pastors might sometimes be greedy but I would not say most of the ones I knew of are. In the word faith churches , which I do not recommend, making money is somehow linked to favor with God and faith and possible confuses prospering in the eyes of God with prospering in an American cultural sense... and possibly more confusion at play than greed

Congratulations you're a poor pastor. What does all this detailed info do, does it prove there are not people who make money off of god? What does not having credit card debt have to do with not being greedy? I'm sorry but I don't get this question or what you're trying to prove. Of course there are churches that money is not the forefront of salvation and the believe system and there are ones that money is forefront and that god is a tool and a means to money and more importantly the power that money and followers bring. Remember money is only a part of greed, I'm sure there are great pastors who are out there who work very hard and receive almost nothing in return, but they still have the power of speaking in front of people, having their ears, preaching specific dogma and teachings that they choose, that's a lot of power.

First, God Bless you! and those who labor for the Lord.some people dont realize the problems that pastors carry on their shoulders and their family too! I find fault with those who preach prosperity? also if the pastor preaches money, tithes etc all the time and drives a Cadillac while his congregation walk and drive junk? it makes me question? I pray that your situation improves and your congregation grows and all is right with you and the people who who look to you for guidance. We are all human and as such we carry the problems of humanity with us ,pray we overcome. Have a Blessed Day!

Why invite human beings to decide you,it relatively is loopy, you being a minister might desire to know there is in straightforward terms individual who sit down in judgment and that's the author, being a pastor does not advise you will possibly desire to be broke, you will possibly desire to instruct human beings a thank you to be rich in each way,and the terrific thank you to instruct is with the help of occasion.fabric wealth has it purpose,as long as you attain it right,in different words,do no longer rip off the church.peace and mat the author bless you!!

Dude, you have a real issue with pride.

Reminds me of the Pharisee who proudly announced his offering loudly while the widow quietly place her few "cents". What did Jesus say about that?

No bad for a Satanist, eh?

The Lord helps those who help themselves.

God bless you - you certainly aren't greedy. Sounds like to me you are taking care of God's call to your life. Hang in there, and God will continue to bless. Maybe your church members will see your sacrifice and acknowledge God's promise to take care of you.

I find it sad that good people have to resort to self defence because of ridicule, best to suffer in silence than defend yourself.

If you know what God is having you do who's business is it anyway. The word of God says, fear God.You are worried about what man thinks, and that is not your business,it is God's business what man thinks. It is your business to do God's will in your life.
