Warning: none of these are really healthy!
If I were to make my own...i'd say:
Kaiser Bun or Pumpernickel or Rye
Alfalfa Sprouts
Tomato
Cucumber
Red Onion
Hot Peppers
Provolone
Mozarella
Spicy Salami
Spicy Capiccolo
(high in sodium)
Drizzled with a bit of extra virgin olive oil and s&p to taste
Or...
Greek pita bread with roasted red peppers, black olives, red onion, hot peppers, feta cheese and shaved breast of turkey.
Or...
Poached or grilled thinly shaved flank steak beef
with green onion, s&p and sesame seeds and sesame oil topped with kimchee slices on naan bread.
My favourite existing sandwiches are:
Katsu-Sando (Japanese)
A panko breaded fried pork tenderloin or chicken breast with lettuce and special sauce (tastes like HP) on plain bread or egg bun.
Korokke (Japanese)
A panko breaded fried potato & ground meat croquette with lettuce and special sauce on an egg bun.

I particularly like swirl rye smeared with cream cheese, layered with alfalfa sprouts, tomatoes and bacon. Kind of a take-off on a BLT.
