If blind people wear dark glasses, why don't deaf people wear earmuffs?

Ok, I'm deaf and my roommate is blind and I gotta admit this is kinda funny.
Like others said, those that are blind and choose to wear dark glasses do so either a. because they are embarrassed at the "weird" look of their eyes or b. because they don't want to make others uncomfortable because of the way their eyes look.
Deaf people do wear earmuffs....in the winter when it's cold outside and everyone else has them on :o). Really though, as someone else said, most deaf people do not have any sort of deformity with their ears they are trying to conceal as with the blind....plus if we wear ear muffs, we couldn't hear anything with our hearing aids! :o)

Blind people dont wear dark glasses because they need to. Alot of blind people's eyes are severley glazed over and they don't want people to see that. Also they have that blank stare, so instead of looking rude they just wear the shades.

I think that it is a matter of self consciousness regarding the appearance of the eyes of those of the blind.
They are attempting to eliminate the distraction of the outward appearance of the eye structures -- which frequently distort or exhibit frank pathology to the casual observer.
Deaf person typically do not have the same issues with the appearance of their ears.

I guess because it's unnecessairy. Blind people wear dark glasses because their eyes are all blank looking and don't look straight at their target. It's just easier.
