i would understand if he was on duty and needed his medication so he can hurry back to work, this is understandable. but thru his conversation he was getting off work and want to try to hurry back and watch a football game. who in the hell he think he is? i told him to go to the back of the line like everyone else. i understand the importance of his job but dang, i was a marine in beirut lebanon dodging booby traps and insurgencies when he was at an age playing with dolls with his sister. was i wrong? he should realize other people have or done important things in life besides himself. im from louisiana

I agree with you, some people are basically rude and don't care about others time. I guess you were a victim of one of those people.

well i know living on an military installation at most stores and the pharmacy "uniformed military" can step to the front of line. And i am sure I would never question a uniformed member why they needed to cut in line. Even if they were off duty and picking up some beer in line.. But I am pretty layed back and not really in a hurry. And what does being from louisiana have to do with it?

While I agree with what you did and the fact that he had no reason to cut in the line. I bothers me that some of the folks who have rendered an opinion here beat the guy up because he is an officer. Could it be that the guy is just an ****** and would have done the same thing if he were a plumber or a copier repairman ?

The man's on a power trip and it will probably get him in trouble some day. He feels he's more important than others. I know it's difficult but don't let it bother you so much. Be confident that he's no better than the next guy. I've been a housewife, a career woman now retired and am a mother of three and grandmother of eight. No body but me truly knows what trials and tribulations I've faced. Consequently, I know I deserve as much respect as the next person. However, I try not to judge others. Makes me more relaxed when I come across fools such as the rude person you describe.

II would say excuse me, but the line is behind me. Just because you are a state trooper doesn't give you the right to jump before me in a line. He should have consideration for other people, after all we are to respect them.

I find it very sad that people are becoming selfish and belligerent, but nowadays that seems to be life. Good for you for speaking up. If we all stood up for ourselves politely but with conviction, perhaps people like him would stop being downright rude. At 4feet 11 inches tall I have always suffered from people going over the top of me at counters and bars and until recently I used to accept it, but now I have the confidence to speak out and usually people are polite if somewhat embarrassed.

Good for you bud, your time is just as valuable as his. Unless it was some kind of emergency as you pointed out there is no excuse for someone to jump in line in front of people who have been waiting their turn at the counter.
That goes double when I'm at an amusement park with my kids and people try to walk beyond me wanting to get up to their supposed friends or family towards the front of the line. I flat out tell them you don't pass me or my kids, but if you want I'll let your party come back and join you behind me. People get really pi$$ed off but I tell them to enter with their group like everyone else or I'll have them ejected from the park if they try to walk past me. Stand up for your rights or people will walk all over, or in some cases past, you.

we was wrong to do that to you. some people just want to get out of there and they will resort to cuting in line. he probly thought that because he was in uniform that he could cut in front to you. all he cared about was picking up his meds and getting back to the office to change out so he could go home and watch his game.

Maybe you can call his superiors and report that he was using his authority in an unjustly manner. It wants right that he did such a thing.

You were correct in what you did. I've done the same thing, but I've never had the golden opportunity to do that to cop. Good for you!
