Hah! Hardly. The problem there is distance (ie. most usually live far away). And the thing of not really spending any face to face time with each other so you never truly know the person.

But its a good thing to try out. Talking to people and find out what humans like or dont like in a person. Then try it on a real life person at home or at a bar. Remember, you can be whatever you want to be in the internet Mrs. President.

It can, it you're careful. Just keep in mind that anything that is written has been edited several times until it sounds 'right'. A person's personality may or may not be the same online as it is in person. The only way you can tell is when you actually meet the person, or have several conversations with this person over the phone.

Try to remain detached from the person until you finally meet them and can see what they are like face to face. That way, IF the person turns out to be completely different from what they portray online, you won't be hurt / disappointed when you finally meet them. Just be cautious.
