When I was younger, my father was very strict with us, my sister and I... It seems as though he has this double standard with boys. I'm pregnant with a boy and already he's talking about how he's going to be a troublemaker, and saying that his mother always told him that he was going to have a son just like him... As a mother, this is the last thing I want to think about. I told him, that he already had his children. How can I prevent him from saying things like this in the future from my child? I believe that he could use negative reinforcement and it could be detrimental to my child's development socially and academically.

Just keep telling your kid that grandpa is a little off his rocker and has always made the best decisions in life.

Some guys get this idea that boys are supposed to get to get into trouble - like it's just part of being a boy, but girls are supposed to be perfect. It shouldn't be a big deal if you raise your kid right.

Honey, dont worry about what your dad is saying. If he's going to say dreadful things all the time about your son, then maybe he shouldn't be around! The poor baby hasn't even been born yet and he's already giving you grief about him!

Prove him wrong, make sure he's the best damn little boy he's ever seen! Make him proud!!

Best wishes and good luck!
