I have 2 kids who will be finishing up elementary school in a couple of years. I am very interested in the quality of education for middle and high schools. I am also open to sending them to private schools. The private school education in Dallas seems to much cheaper than Michigan. Can anyone comment on the education level in the PLano or the Frisco Suburbs?

If you have children be sure you check the schools out thoroughly. I am disappointed in most Texas schools. The mentality is very different here in the south and I don't think its something you can get just from one visit. You might vacation here a week with your family once or twice if you have the luxury to see if you like it. Texas is not like anyplace else. I love it here. Can do without some of it.

Well in Detroit you're probably cold most of the year. In Texas you are hot most of the year. The thirties for a week is a cold winter here in Texas. Do they like the whether change? Do you like the school system? There is plenty to do for the kids. The best Six Flags, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Hurrican Harbor (water park), etc. I lived there as a kid and LOVED it. Also, I don't know if you're the husband or wife but ask if the husband would like to be around a good football team. (I actually do love the Lions though since there are so many Longhorns on the team.)

I do not knoew about the education in that city, but on the whole everything is cheaper in Texas
