If you have children be sure you check the schools out thoroughly. I am disappointed in most Texas schools. The mentality is very different here in the south and I don't think its something you can get just from one visit. You might vacation here a week with your family once or twice if you have the luxury to see if you like it. Texas is not like anyplace else. I love it here. Can do without some of it.

Well in Detroit you're probably cold most of the year. In Texas you are hot most of the year. The thirties for a week is a cold winter here in Texas. Do they like the whether change? Do you like the school system? There is plenty to do for the kids. The best Six Flags, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Hurrican Harbor (water park), etc. I lived there as a kid and LOVED it. Also, I don't know if you're the husband or wife but ask if the husband would like to be around a good football team. (I actually do love the Lions though since there are so many Longhorns on the team.)

do not pay attention to Kelsay. Like reported above, Plano is the main secure greater city in the U.S., and Allen (the place I stay) is the main secure city below 100k in Texas and ninth in the rustic. have faith me, I moved from Michigan myself (from Kalamazoo and my fiance from Detroit), you isn't disappointed. I incredibly have seen the "roughest" areas of Dallas and that is not even 1 / 4 as undesirable as Detroit. cost of residing is below Michigan as properly, and no state tax. additionally the activity industry is between the suitable you will possibly be able to desire to ever discover in the rustic. enormously somebody with a CDL, Dallas has the main fortune 500 agencies in the rustic. many of the agencies have DC's right here. What does that advise? A crapload of mandatory drivers tremendously plenty perpetually. some areas of Northeast may well be undesirable, however the extra serious is South Dallas (o.ok.Cliff). in case you're finding to advance a family individuals in a secure, extra modern community with 1st classification college systems i could advise Allen. yet tremendously much all cities in Collin County (Allen, Plano, Firsco, McKinney, Fairview) are extra modern and extra beneficial than secure. sturdy success! p.s. DO IT!

List out your pros and cons on paper - side by side. Investigate the area on the internet to find out things like: Cost of living, crime rate, how the schools in the area rate....weather conditions etc.....in the end, if you have your families best interests at heart you won't go wrong! Good luck!
