Demerol is a true opiate derivative. That means that it is derived directly from the poppi plant. It is in a selective class of pain killers that consist of Heroine, Oxycontin, Demerol, Dilodid, Codeine, Morphine. Don't confuse these with synthetic opiates (Known as opioids) in the hydrocodone class such as vicodine, lortab ect. (Note: although this is not a fact YET recognized by the medical society, Methadone is the most addictive drug on the planet). Also all opiate class drugs synthesize into the same drug once it enters the blood stream.

To answer your question: yes, yes and yes.

If you or anyone is thinking about taking these drugs then Good luck in your addiction, jails, institutions, hospitals and death. Trust me I may have not spelled all the words correctly but I have done all those drugs and many more. Trust me it's not a road you want to go down because it never ends and there's no turning around not even in recovery.

first of all, GARY C is a moron. Demerol, which is meperidine (pethidine) HCl is a fully synthetic opioid prescribed for moderate to severe pain, and also used for anti-spamatic purposes. It has no relation to the Opuim poppy plant. He greatly misinformed you in that aspect. It is available in tablet, injection, or capsule form, also in combnation with promethazine, known as Mepergan Forte. People can find it on the streets or from drug dealers. Although it is relatively uncommon, due to the fact that it is a schedule 2 narcotic. Where as you can find hydrocodone almost anywhere, because it is only schedule 3, and a lot easier for a patient to get. It can be addictive and habit forming.

Demerol does come in pill form and it is addicting. Like most other narcotics it can be obtained illegally on the street.

Yes it comes in a pill, yes you can get it on the streets, and yes you can get addicted to it.

Its not available much on the street because it is highly controlled by pharmacies and the doctors that prescribe them.

And if you are thinking of abusing this or any drug, watch a show called intervention, I think it comes on A&E. You see first hand how drugs can ruin someones life.

Yes it comes in tablets and is highly addictive. It is not as common on the streets as other drugs, though.
